Thanks a lot guys, just got this product and loving it.
Just one question, on my CCC iDrive, it shows "Tune2Air" as connected device instead of the name of my phone. I have an Android phone, is there anyway to change the name to something else? |

Definitely not. I suspect the behavior is the same even if you have an actual iPod connected.

Interesting. In any event, you're out of luck re:android.

Just picked one of these up- it kicks ass. This plus the factory Logic 7 is certainly nothing to shake a stick at for a stock setup (I've installed $1k+ systems before too).
Woot! |

I ordered the Y cable and iPhone 5 adapter just a couple days ago. Of course I just now saw this thread and I'm about to return that adapter as soon as it gets here! This is definitely worth the extra cash to be able to keep my iPhone in my pocket.

Bought this right when it came out, was constantly not connecting, dropping out after 30 seconds. I bought the high rated amazon Y adaptor for our cars. No issues in the past 2 months, works great every time.
I didn't even update the software, what a pain that was trying to do. |

So if I have an iphone 5, what else do I need to get to make it work? A cable adapter?

hello everyone... I have a 2011 335i that i just purchased a couple months ago. The dealer said there is no bluetooth at all and I cannot even upgrade it WTF!! They gave me a y-cable, but the aux outlet is in the center console but no USB port in there. The only USB is in the glove box and i hear it is just for uploading to the hardrive. I've tried and cannot stream anything connecting my phone to that port. WTF! I can use a cigarette to usb charger in the center console, but will that give me the same results using the WMA1000? or any I just being optimistic.

Sorry, this probably wont work for you. You might want to consider the link posted by techwhiz on the mass storage to Bluetooth. That might work in your glove box. |

You need to retrofit either a MULF or combox. It's totally possible, your dealer is (sort of) bullshitting you, but it's expensive and hard.

damn it! I can't believe they would even sell 2011 bimmers without bluetooth. I mean i have the navigation and the steering wheel controls. I would have thought it was standard by now. Any idea how much time/money it would take to install a combo box? Or do you guys recommend any aftermarket units?

Anyway, not combo box, combox. Com for communication - this is the controller that's used for telematics and BMW assist and whatnot. The combox itself is anywhere from $250 to $500, then there's wiring some of which will be preinstalled and some of which won't. It's quite complicated. I think this is the right part, but I'm not certain. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-5-6-7-...feb014&vxp=mtr The alternative is something like a Dension Gateway 500 which is $400 and comparably hard to install.

BMW always leaves LED lights out of the first iteration of a model line so that they can add them back again in the LCI version 3 years later. All about charging every last cent for the shit that should come free.

I managed to lose my tune2air this weekend when bringing my car into the shop. Anyway, while I did like it for my 2010 328xi, every once in awhile it would mess up my Bluetooth phone and if I went to make a call or a call was received, it wouldn't work through my car's Bluetooth. The fix would be to disconnect the Tune2air and re power up car. Did anyone ever experience this? I'm hesitant to plunk down another 100 bucks as I found this a major annoyance. Are their any competitor products to the Tune2air that uses the 6fl?
