Is vanos solenoid a CPO covered repair?

I'm getting the occasional yellow half engine and limp mode - goes away when I restart engine. The idle has been a little rougher lately, also. The Bavarian Technics tool shows 2A82 & 3100 codes. I've read the DIY on solenoid cleaning and replacement and don't know that I want to mess with it myself. I've got 50,750 miles on the car and it's still under the CPO warranty. Does anyone know if this is a CPO-covered repair?
Thank,
Ken

Yes it is. Should get both solenoids and an oil service to go with

Thanks for the info. Since it's only showing the intake solenoid problem, bet they'll only want to change that one!

Hi,

I went in for the Vanos issue and they changed both out.
They did the oil service and a few other things and looked for anything else under CPO they could do for my $50.

yup... just had the same issue last week. Dealer fixed it along with an oil change, covered by CPO.

UPDATE:
Just got car back from Dealer. They did replace both solenoids. Covered by CPO and I paid my $50. Also got an oil change. My loaner was a new X5.

Lucky, mine came on once and went away. I hope it goes on again so I can replace it before my warranty ends.

Mine came on and then went away, took it to the dealer and they found it was the vanos solenoid.

You dont have to wait for the engine malfunction to come back.
