A lot of people say start at 2k rpm.

They do this to compare spool speeds.

A better way to use the tool is to look at torque and hp at x rpm to compare different setups.

Buy mhd and the logging thing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha...soo true.

I want more power!!! but don't want my car to break....its inevitable something is going to fail at some point. Its the life of a modded car.

To me if your thinking about it this much its not for you.
But I can tell you right now if you do end up flashing MHD you will never go back to stock.

If you drive hard or stock the same things will break on normal parts.

Spark plugs will wear out quicker but they are only $100 and should be changed every 20k km anyway.

Hpfp, injectors, water pump, oil filter gasket will fail tuned or stock.

Adding 100hp won't break anything.

I think it's highly strange someone would own a n54 and not put a tune on it which cost so little.

Since flashing it i can tell you the car is transformed, more power all over the place, you can feel it instantly after the flash.

I did load my mhd stage 1 log into a virtual dyno simulator and showed 235kw at the wheels, yet to do a proper dyno.

You are going from 8psi stock to around 12-13psi on Stage 1.
Anything breaking on you with MHD Stage 1? On the fence with my 335i.

Im on Stage 1+ now for over a year and about to flash Stage 2+ with VRSF down pipes.

Car has been running strong no issues at all , i did all my preventative maintenance mods before the MHD tune (coils, plugs, walnut blast, valve cover, ofhg)

BM335M....did the MHD stage 1+ improve the 'driveability' of the car? Any improvement on throttle lag, kickdown lag, getting less of that 'accelerator learning' for example?

Those annoy me more than any lack of kW....

I've had xHP stage 2 for a year now, but if anything I feel it might make the 'lag' worse? Haven't had time to test as I'm working overseas most of this year...

Done some logging stock map Vs Stage 1 ver8.

Stock map=RED.
Stage 1=Blue.

Boost (dotted line) quite a difference even down low. Stock map seems to run quite lean however probably safe as its only around 7-8psi.

Overall i noticed with the V8 Beta maps it drives smoother and power is up from Stage 1. I disabled the kick-down option in MHD and did not reset the throttle adaptations. With Stage 1+ the car is quicker than my mates 307kw VF SS.

.
I had a really big problem with throttle pedal response. Having to bury foot to footwell to yield results. The MHD has an option to introduce a more linear mapping for the throttle

In my case I think it's the throttle 'learning' that kills some of the driving enjoyment/responsiveness.

Anytime I haven't driven the car for weeks on end, the first time I drive it, it responds incredibly well. Wheelspin without provocation. But within days it seems to revert to an 'economy' focused mode which puts it in a higher gear more quickly

Makes me miss the reliable simplicity of a physical throttle cable (at least you knew the throttle would open exactly as the driver wanted!)

Sounds like your still driving in "D" mode

For what its worth, the MHD has the ability to map a 'linear throttle mapping' to the car. This transformed the dougyness of the throttle pedal for the first couple of cm for me. Which made it nearly impossible to heal and toe.

i've a N55 135i in manual.

For what its worth, i flahsed the Stage 1 over the weekend and i am very happy with the results.

My car was dynoed stock at 190kw at Advan performance. The car feels stronger and power delivery seems smoother. I swear the car sounds better too. (stock exhaust).

the 2500rpm-2800rpm is where the magic begins it seems

These are my Stage 1+ vs Stage 2+ MHD OTS maps in VD.

On Stage 2+ car has so much more torque all over, pulls like a freight train

Do it, you wont regret it. The n54 responds very well to mods and shits all over my previous jdm car comparing mod for mod and outright power.

For DP's get the VRSF and nothing else, they fit like a glove and you wont have headaches like i did with the ARM ones.

Indeed, i know all about that. Switched from Subaru after like 10 years of owning various models.
