Gotcha, but full sand and polish will make it loook indistinguishable from new from more than a foot away. Check out some tutorials in you tube. $15 in supplies. Plus replacing these requires baking in the oven and getting it *perfect* otherwise they’ll leak and be a huge pain.

Sometimes the exterior fix does more harm than good. Retail kits are what damaged my paint on one and headlamp lenses on two cars. Splitting risks weather related issues. The old "blinker fluid" as it were. Sometimes replacement is the better option.

Also, installing a new lens has to be done absolutely perfectly - otherwise, you might as well throw it in the garbage. Also, how did you ruin your paint polishing a headlight lens? confused... I'm not talking about a retail kit. You don't need that. You need 800,1500 and 3000 grit sandpaper plus compound and polish. Do it in that order and tape off your surrounding paint. Easy job, don't make it harder than that. |

I've got a full write up on how I modified my LCI lights on here somewhere. Pretty in-depth on how to get the lights open. I used a dremel to cut the upper lip off the housing then sealed them up pretty good using butyl tape and RTV silicone. Been a year with no leaks.
