Hello from Glasgow.
Hi All,
Purchased my first BMW at the weekend, an 09 E90 318i LCI Msport business edition in Space Grey with iDrive & Black Dakota Leather. I know it's underpowered, but that's not what I bought it for haha. Got rid of an S3 and had my fun with that for 3 years. Anyway, first up an in depth detail inside and out. 2BM, poorboys etc etc. Then start with the Mods... Sort out the old yellow exterior and internal lights Change the aluminium interior trim, wrap or swap depends what I find. Black kidney grilles Need to sort the broken heating vents (I believe these are a common fault). 10mm front /12mm rear spacers K&N filter + performance exhaust (purely for the sound as I miss the S3 haha) Returb alloys and powdercoat graphite grey or back to silver. Been looking at the USB retrofit with the combox but not sure. Will be gradually changing the bumpers to M3 and xenon's etc but costs take over Best, Stahliniho. Hello from Cincinnati. I searched for my car for 8 months, and bought an ep3 in the meantime to get me around. Then I found what I was looking for. It was in San Diego and I could only take 3 days off work to get it. So I left after work on a Monday night, flew to Chicago where I stayed the night, and got to San Diego late morning Tuesday. I took a $100 cab ride, bought my car, got some In N' Out, and began my 2,100 mile road trip back to Cincinnati. After three consecutive 10-14hr days of driving I still smiled Friday morning when I got in my new (to me) car.
Anyways, its a graphite e91 328i 6MT RWD Pre-LCI with sport package and aluminum trim. It had 116k miles on it at time of purchase, and I got it for $12.5k and that included a 3 stage intake manifold and DISA valves that had been tested (not installed). I realize $12.5k is typically a bit inflated for a 9yr old car with 116k miles, but I absolutely love wagons and the pricing seemed fair for a well maintained, rot free (FL and CA) e91. I thoroughly enjoy driving it, but I'll be parking the e91 this winter. It's not seen salt yet and I'd like to keep it that way. Until this car was up on a lift I don't think I'd ever seen the underside of a 9yr old car that looked so clean. I'll use the ep3 this winter. Hopefully come spring I'll have enough saved up to install the 3 stage intake, get an AAW tune to make it a 330, and do a complete suspension refresh/upgrade. And if I can talk my brother into getting some new shoes for his e90 M3 I'll have some style 220's to put on my e91! I suppose that's more of an introduction than necessary. This forum has already helped me research and choose the car I want as well as search for and find the car I bought. I look forward to all the DIY threads and opinions to come. Cheers All. |

E92 335i Newbie
Hi everyone
I'm a newbie to BMW. I cam straight out of a civic type-r into my first BMW 3 months ago; 2012 e92 335i 7G DCT Auto 18k miles M Sport Plus To be honest I was floating around the idea of a 12' RS3 for a long time, then one day I was at BMW with the GF and saw this 335i there, test drove it and bought it that same day. I absolutely loved it. I have already taken it back twice for some minor issues while I have the warranty but nothing serious. I joined the forum as I need to build up my knowledge of these cars. Its the first turbo car I have owned too. I guess it would be nice to get ahead of anything before my warranty runs out. The car is silver and the only bits I have done to it are put on some black kidney grilles and black 335i badge on the back. Going to take the alloys to get painted in black soon too. I think once the warranty is finished and I have owned it at least a year I may look at some performance mods. To the best of my knowledge so far it seems when I feel I will want some more power the most effective and inexpensive mod would be a remap. Any hints/tips from experienced owners on common issues to look out for and smart performance mods to think about in the near future would be greatly appreciated. Hello there, here's my 330D. I needed something quick and comfortable for my long commute and this is the perfect car for it.
Have had to sort a couple of little niggles like the headlight washers and I need to do the thermostats as the car isnt getting hot enough but apart from that I love it. Totally different car to my Integra. 20161023_131438-01 by Adam McFarland, on Flickr 20161023_131504-01 by Adam McFarland, on Flickr 20161023_151406-01 by Adam McFarland, on Flickr |

Hi Adam, Welcome I have had my 335i Coupe for about 4 months now and I have had a few issues too (luckily under warranty) but the car is well worth it! I come from a FN2 Type-R and yeah they are worlds apart. Have you kept the Teg? |

Hi yeah still got the Teg. Hopefully I'll never sell it as I've had it over 10 years now and its one of the few good ones left.

Hi All
Hi All,
New member here from up in lovely Scotland - just purchased my 09 335i DCT in Alphine White on Tuesday. Got to say I absolutely love the car so far, especially the gearbox! So far the car has lowering springs (with poly bushes) and a performance exhaust system with hi-flow cats. No idea the manufacturer of the exhaust but it sounds great. Carbon roof wrap and M style grilles as well if you those are to be classed as 'mods' . One negative is I have the orange engine light already, so will need to get that checked lol..... |

2010 E90 320d ed owner saying hello
Hi all, I'm a relatively new owner of a 320d efficient dynamics saloon; nice enough spec, to which I added cruise control a week after I got it, and a gearstick from a 335xi (shorter throw than the absurdly long standard 320d ed one).
I have one major gremlin with it, which I will add in the technical forums when I get approved! Otherwise though it's a great drive, and a big improvement on my 2007 Passat Estate. I miss the space, but not too much! Some pictures... Last edited by bfleming; 01-02-2017 at 03:35 PM.. |

Another newbie
Hi all. New to the forum but have been reading posts for a few weeks now. Very informative stuff so thanks already.
Not yet made my purchase but i have pretty much whittled it down to a possible 2. E92 330d or 335d. Have test driven both and am pretty impressed, definately edging towards the 335d but they are a little thin on the ground. Maybe i'm being a bit too picky but really want i drive and heated seats, under 100k miles and budget £10k. There are a few 330d but few with both my requirements. The I-drive just makes the dash look classier, and the heated seats are a god send especially on leather in the winter There was one on AT i tried, but the garage dealer was a bit, well, not very impressive so i walked away. Really need to part ex my current car (VW Passat 170 tdi) which is why im only looking at the trade as i can't really be without a car while i'm searching, just makes things simpler. I've read about the problems people have with the 2 diesels, but in reality with the number that must have been sold in the UK, are they that problematic compared to the number of complaints? My local independent specialist won't even buy them, but somehow, this hasn't really put me off. Oh well, the search continues, wish me luck. Thanks again. |

Hi All,
Have upgraded from years of E36s and a E46 to a E91 330d! Few mods done by previous owner including the 20" wheels and a nice map. Hopefully keeping it for a while and hoping to increase my E9x knowledge from this forum. |
