I'm not sure whether will be worth it either. I have the cradle and part of the harness. Would be nice if cradle could be used to mirror the phone. Video/movies aren't much important. Other things are interesting. For example I go to track. So Track Addict app or other apps could show on CID. Or jb4 app.

video playback is not screen mirror, because it will only pass picture when only iphone4 or 4s which have analog video output will play video using that output

Touche. It is a personal preference thing. I had bought the blue fakra cable in hopes to retrofit the cradle as well. I don't think it is worth it IMO. You may need a module to hi-jack the display and mirror the device.

Newer iPhones have HDMI output that could be converted to RCA output but like you said that is not mirroring the phone. I'm leaning toward that and wanting to utilize the cradle beacase it will keep the phone in place and it will be easily accessible vs having the phone in the clove compartment.

Are you familiar with any modules available that can achieve this?

Anything Apple play with RCA out and uses a 12v source will do the trick

Not the cheapest... https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw...tech-smartview

there may be other similar module out there though. This is the only I've read about

$600 to screen cast ... that's a bit much
The easiest way to do it would be to get a cheap Miracast/airplay receiver which are circa $15 and then get a HDMI to composite video adaptor and connect it to the CIC where the cradle video would normally plug in. Then code the car for video in motion and select the cradle input. Voila ! You have your tablet MHD gauges on the iDrive screen..... I might just do it myself actually.

MULF2 will work fine but did the combox media retrofit which isn't compatible with c.08

I had MULF 2, I then retrofitted a combox media and mine connects fine to my CIC which is c.08.

You either have a phone, coding or combox issue.

As per my other thread,
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1452129

A wifi streaming box in the centre console plugged into USB aux audio and three wires going to CIC (maybe some coding)and you can mirror iPhone.

How cool would that be ?

Very nice. I might wanna ditch the emulator from my car. Is it via script activation or fresh programming with your vehicle's vin?

That would be very cool. Unfortunately has been -20c for a week here. Not encouraging at all to work in not heated garage. I will read your thread and take notes. I appreciate your enthusiasm and support. Srekna Nova 2018!

copy the attached file to the the ec-apps\carserver\daten\gdaten directory.

Actually, make sure you download the carserver directory. I posted a link in the beginning of this thread. Then overwrite the carserver directory in c:\ec-apps

Is like Edibas for Inpa. It allows FStool to read and load FCS codes to CIC. Runs on Java.
