So, are there any changes from v25 on v26? Maybe they fixed some bugs? A couple of bugs I have with v25 is that sometimes my car is mysteriously switched to another entertainment source when I start the car versus when I turned it off. Not a huge deal. Another thing, the chime when I start the car sometimes is annoying broken up. Not really a bug, just an annoyance of v25. Can't think of any other bugs offhand.

I think I got 26 as well. It's funny, because I felt pretty excited like Josh.

I can post some pics tomorrow. But, one major thing I noticed other than the POI feature was the change in the background CD picture and the way tracks are selected, it is now vertical instead of horizantally in a semi-circle.

Also, second the graphics, it's sweet.

The center i button seems to have more options.

I agree about the phone number and the address when u look up POI's. Although, this fdidn't affect me much since I had bluetooth, it's still nice to see the number, and my previous 03 e46 with nav/bluetooth also had the number and address so it was odd to see the old version of the idrive not have that. But, it's back!

Those are the major things I noticed. Speed is improved as well.

Also, just FYI, when i picked minie up, i had an error msg statin sunroof trapped on idrive, and sunroof wasn';t functioning properly. They had forgotten to reprogram the sunroon. They did it in like 5 mins, but just somethinig to check before u leave the stealership.

Alrite, more later.

PS: I am a new e90 owner, and loving it! My e46 got totaled a month ago when some dumass rear ended me pretty hard. But, loving the upgrade :rocks:

That's awesome to hear. Glad you're loving your car..

I'll have to check out how the normal cd screen looks when I get home. All I have with me is mp3 cd's..

The only thing i've noticed so far with ver 26 is that the + never shows up next to TI (traffic information). I used to see TI+ now only TI. I have no clue what the difference is, if any. Anyone else see this or know more about it?

So far, everything sounds the same as v25 (even the lack of a plus sign in TI+). I wonder what the differences are.

Yep. What's nice is you don't even need to click on it for that either..

When you actually do the search, before you click on it, it'll say

Wal-mart
City, State

Wal-mart
City, State

Wal-mart
City, State

Wal-mart
City, State

Then you can click on it and get the detailed info from there. Very happy they did this. Very very happy..

For the song titles. what ID3 tag version(s) did v25 not read correctly?

Doesn't sound like it has added anything noticeable over the latest v25

All of these said changes in v26 were done with v25. I read through the whole thread and havent seen a legit change with v26 yet.

I guess ill have to update my car at work sometime at next week and find out for myself. I already have v25 so we'll see how it goes...

thats fast i guess... was it just for program update? i've only been to the dealership for oil changes... and they did some minor inspection on tire wear, break wear, and some other stuff. usually all took less than a day...

i need my car for daily use... as my family does not have a free car for the time being... and im not old enough to opt for a loaner

I should be more clear -- I have v25, and it reads my MP3 files perfectly now. Previously, I had v21, and it was a mess to play MP3 CDs. CDs with CD text always worked, so that's what I used to do. Now I can play MP3 CDs again and it's useful, I can actually see what the songs are before I pick them. The only thing I don't like is the force feedback on the iDrive controller when you reach the end of a screen makes it a bit annoying to scroll through 100 songs. But it is 1000x better than it used to be.

The same CDs that my previous PROGMAN v21 would show filenames like the following (trying to remember off the top of my head, but something cryptic like this):

003_DAV~.MP3
004_DAV~.MP3
005_DAV~.MP3

Now it shows like this:

Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching
Dave Matthews Band - Crash Into Me
Dave Matthews Band - Satellite

Then, when you play a file, if you have "show info" turned on, it puts the artist name at the top line, the song name on the bottom line. It works great now!

I don't know what the CD filing system is. I just drag and drop the files onto a CD-R in Windows using Sonic DLA. According to Mp3tag, the tags on my files are all "ID3v2.3 (ID3v1 ID3v2.3)"

ok. For some reason I thought the new version wasn't reading certain files because of the CD filing system used or mp3 file format, but you attributed that to how fast the CD was burned. (it will skip over certain mp3 files if it doesn't understand the ID3 tags or sampling rate.)

I know that v26.02 fixes the VR issue; thats what the dealer loaded yesterday to fix it. I noticed on the work order that there was a PUMA # associated with it. Interesting.
