muffler delete on my e90 330i VIDEO
i did this a couple weeks ago and i absolutely love it!
I was going to buy a magnaflow exhaust but watching some videos made me realize doing this will get me a better sound for a lower price. here a vid not a cold start, and you can hear that stupid ticking lifter in the backround |

I had the opportunity to "sound-check" when I went in for a muffler delete at the shop I choose. Hearing them (muffler deletes) on videos, it sounded decent, but in person it just sounded.. too.. unrefined. In a sense, it needed "direction" and a slight muffler to make it go from sounding like an annoying fart-can to something more exotic-esque/unique. In the end, I went with an Elite muffler and there's a huge difference in terms of how either option went. Best $350 I've spent thus far on my vehicle and although I know we have different motors, it's truly a pleasure to listen. TL/DR: If you want loud, muffler delete. If you prefer a more refined while still maintaining similar loudness, you'll want to go aftermarket muffler route. |

+1 maybe each car is slightly different depending on how it's done. But a muffler delete can sound great. On a 335 it is obnoxious. The N52 sounds decent with it.

Absolutely true on the 335/n52 comparison, I've gotten compliments from 335/n54 owners when they hear me start my car up of what type of exhaust I have and sound is beefy/aggressive

Drone
2008 335i > stock > muffler delete with tips > sounds amazing > DRONE @ 2200-2400rpm. If you don't know what drone is google it causes it sucks.
