Who else is on the Hojin? (NYK)

Got an email from my CA, that my car made it on the Hojin. Interestingly, while most estimates I've read say 28 days to Port Hueneme, the tracking data I got from my CA estimates the voyage at 20 days, with an estimated arrival of June 6th in PH, and an estimated VPC arrival of June 7th.

DBH Logistics (www.dbh.de) lists the ETA as 6/11, wonder why they're so far apart...

Either way, wooohooo! :rocks:

Well, I'm hoping my car made it on the Hojin but I need to call my CA to find out. I dropped it off at Harms on the 8th and it was on a truck to Bremerhaven by the 10th.

Mine completed manufacturing on 5/9, and arrived at the port awaiting a ship on 5/12, so I assume you were in line ahead of me.

Good to know, thanks. I was looking on the AIS live site but was having trouble finding the ship anywhere near Bremerhaven. Guess I'll have to keep looking.

As much as I would like the ability to track this myself, $1320 for a subscription is a bit much for an individual.

Thanks a ton for the pic!

You can sign up for the limited membership for free. It's the extra features that cost money. I also believe there's a free trial, but I havn't looked into it.

I couldn't find the Hojin on the Delfzijl approach area this morning when I checked (BTW, thanks for the tip about AISlive "light" that you can get for free), so I assume that it's now merrily on it's way to the Panama Canal.

Now I am starting to think about dealer addons and options like the //M shift knob, getting the car tinted, etc. Hrm....

Apparently it's very fast. I noticed that most of the PH-bound ships have scheduled transit times of 28 days listed, but my CA said it'd dock at PH in ~20 days (June 6th) according to her bill of lading data, and that we could expect to have all our cars at the VPC by June 7th.

I don't know whether this is normal for all NYK ships, or whether the Hojin is just that much faster. Or maybe it just doesn't have all the extra stops to unload cars that the east coast ships seem to take.

With that much of a difference in time, I'd have to guess it's due to less stops. Even a fast ship couldn't make up that much difference sailing.
I asked my CA yesterday and he said he doesn't know what ship I'm on, but I guess that could be because I did ED. I know it won't make it come any faster knowing, but I'd still like to know.
