forget the Ovation tweeters. Get the MT-23, and the Ovation 4" mid. That combo seems to work best with the FACTORY amp in our cars.

how would the oem hifi 2ohm woofers sound powered by a xd600/6? in comparison to the oem 6.5" base stereo woofers powered by the xd as well. is it worth getting the hifi ones? or should i save up and get eartquakes/jenherts.

my reasoning for the hifi ones is that my music does not have a lot of mid bass, and also im getting a trunk sub soon

Unless there free

Unless there free. Will they output more bass with more power yes
as long as they last.
Are they well matched to the amp no.
The other two depending . Jehnerts for accuracy , SWS for more bass

ok well they are not free lol.

i think ill wait and save up for some earthquakes then. i contacted a UK importer a few weeks back and he said he only imports the 4ohm ones. when i asked why he said its because ppl ended up frying the wooders and amps with 2ohn versions. i think he was just trying to convince me to get his 4ohm ones. or is there an element in truth in what he's saying?

with the xd, would the 2ohm would be better or is it a marginal difference?

yeah i still am hopefully

i know what you're thinking....the jenherts will be better if im adding a trunk sub. they are my preference as i think i should focus the woofers on mid bass if im getting a sub. im just finding it a bit tricky to source them here in the uk.

i think my plan now is to add the xd600/6 and morels. amp centre vibe, morels and underseats. Then add a trunk sub. im just praying that i will stop at this point. but if i feel the need to upgrade the woofers, then ill get either jenherts/earthquakes.

i just thought the hifi woofers would be a quick and easy fix. but i guess not

a question about mounting the morels. so far i know of 3 methods:

1) use speaker adaptors (previously 808MGuy used to sell them) this would be my first choice but i cant find them anywhere why isnt no one making/selling these??
2) use Technics dynamat method. this would be easy but im not sure if its the best
3) the person who sold me the morels said to attach the mids to the morel grille, and then top mount it. like screw the new grille into the leather he said if i needed to return to stock the oem grille could cover the holes if i slightly stretched the leather. he said this would improve the sound quality
4) make my own adaptors. which i think should be simple with some mdf and a saw. i'll just need to take my door panel off to see the dimensions. unless someone knows them?

Which option do u think i should go for?

For MIDbass (w/ trunk sub), i would guess

Jehnert>SSMB8>L7>HiFi>SWS8 =(but in a different way)=stereo 6.5

There are some that sell the adaptor rings.

There are some that sell the adaptor rings.
The speakers should also come with some spring clips to make
this work.
Vp Electricity use to sell them but now I think he only wants
to sell them in a kit . I think Technic might no where to get
them. The tweeters basicly clip in and/or use a little hot glue.

Yeah the morels do come with spring clips, to attach them to their grilles. But ideally i dont want to top mount them as i want to avoid drilling holes into the leather.
I've pmd technic to ask him if he knows where i can get it.
I think i might need to modify the tweeter housing to enable the tweeters to fit.

I dont suppose you, or anyone else, know where i can get the adaptor rings?
