HELP - both keyfobs not working
Today we had a really annoying problem with our E90 LCI 318i (Dutch car). This morning, I unlocked the car with our regular fob and the alarm sounded. I unlocked again, all was fine, drove off. After a short ride and an hour stop, the same happened, but this time pressing again did nothing. The car did not unlock, alarm kept sounding till it shut off by itself. The same happened with the spare fob which hadn't been used in a few months (I do swap them from time to time).
Mechanical key entry of course worked, but the car did not respond to any of the fobs plugged into the socket next to the steering wheel. Car does not have comfort access. I called road side assistance, suspecting the battery, but the voltage was OK under the hood (12.8V) and kickstarting did nothing. Car is just dead. They towed it and it's now being towed to a specialist on Monday unless I come up with a brilliant idea to fix this myself... Any thoughts? Thanks! |

Turned out this was an issue with the well-known B+ cable wreaking havoc in the fuse box in the glove compartment. The box needs replacing and the B+ repair kit will be applied. I have a 400 euro indicative quote all-in.
