The problem is that it costs 2 times more than unit with android 7.1
And i can't find it on other webs, e.g. aliexpress.

really i've read post of people being able to flash no issues? i know you can't with the wifi adapter but i was talking about hardwiring in to the obd plug with the avins plug.

well that defeats the purpose maybe i can just get a trim piece and wire my table behind.

Interested to see those posts. I never ran across one.

The last time I checked MHD flash was not compatible with any wireless adapter. In any case, for me, after installing MHD on my Avin 8.8 and using either a BimmerWorks or a One-Stop-Electronics OBDII cable connected to the Avin USB port, attempting to flash caused the headunit to reboot, aborting the flash and any other process that was running. Something about the MHD software is incompatible with Avin headunit I had. As I mentioned, you can still log.


Perhaps the newest revisions of the Avin software eliminate this problem. I doubt it but its possible

It is the car sending a can packet to shutdown the unit during flash initialization you would need to toggle a secondary power source and disconnect the lvds connector

interesting... I was looking to see if they had any updated units with 8.0.

Like you said it does cost 2x as much so I probably won't bite the bullet but maybe someone else can try.

So this one Szkianda as CIC and CCC with or without Aux... I am wondering if they have figured out how to make it work without having to run a cable to AUX line....

Might contact them, but I am afraid of a language barrier, and they might not understand what I am asking....

I spoke with Avin and they wont be pushing out the 8.1 (oero) until sometime next year. I wonder if other popular brands will wait until then as well...

670 dollars vs 350 for the 7.1 on aliexpress... Is 7.1 vs 8.1 really worth a 300 dollar premium?

I put my order for the 7.1 Navistar yesterday... Hope i dont get buyers regret but I dont see how I can justify 300 for 8.1... I think the the only thing 8.1 has is amazon music, which would be nice, but I dont see it being with the price difference....

- Can you do anything about the static noise coming from the audio system?
- Can you resolve the brightness issue? If you turn the light switch in any position the system dims the display to 75%.
- Can you change the incoming call ringtone?

Sorry I haven't installed my unit yet. Hopefully it's fine cause I'm past the return date 😅.

I do need to get some accessories but haven't gotten those. Have you gotten any? I was going to get a lte USB dongle and maybe gps splitter? I already have backup camera. What else is there

For #1, the way to do it is better grounding of the aux. I'll look into it when I install mine but idk how to fix it yet.
