The manual wasn't any help, except to say this was a feature to protect the glove box from valets, etc.? Last edited by mds54; 03-19-2011 at 02:31 PM.. |

How come the 335is isn't more popular???
So, I live in Northern New Jersey and when I dropped by the service station of my dealer, I spoke to the service advisor and she knew almost NOTHING about the 335is.
How come it isn't more popular in the States??? |

^^^
In 3 months of driving my new 335is and scanning the roads, I have yet to see another one. And that includes a statewide California trip, and commuting in Silicon Valley, where every 10th car is a BMW. I like being unique! |

This is one of many (and I do mean, MANY) reasons why I would get the 335is.

I'm surprised also but not really surprised.
I had many reasons for getting the 335is over an 335i also and didn't want an M3 because of its higher price, higher insurance and over all higher maintenance cost reasons.
Most people buy or lease the 328 or 328 convertible. I do see 335i's around but I have only personally seen one other 335is which was last year. The dealer has a couple in the show room. People that are looking at a 335is may also be looking at an M3 and won't compromise on a 335is or that may look at a 335i vert or 5 series for the price. This makes the 335is truely an enthusiasts car. Likely the 328 power is sufficient for the DC are where we have the highest congestion in the country. Also around here people are crazy. They ride your @ss driving anything and then you rocket off and they catch up a minutes later and do the same thing like their car is as fast as yours. Its rediculous. You can't maintain your speed to get away from them because you risk a ticket which is also big business regardless of what cops say. This is why Northern VA refused to raise the speed limit to 75 while the rest of Virginia was raised. Tickets. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...012000056.html |

Hey Guys, new member here. Eagerly waiting for my Crimson Red 335is coupe, 6 MT w Black interior. No frills except for Comfort Access and Bluetooth. Currently in production and scheduled for late August Performance Center delivery.
A bit of background...I used to have a 2010 335i, Blue Water E90 6MT w only 15K miles on it, till a few weeks ago when an as@#% without a driver's license flew threw a red light and slammed into me. No one was injured but the 335 was declared a total loss. Loved that car and I wanted something a bit more special to get over it. In addition to the 335is, I also considered the S4 and the M3. Was very intrigued by the reviews of the S4 but found it to be a bit bland when we checked it out...just didn't get me excited the same way that the 335is did. The M3, on the other hand, now that's different - makes me drool but I just cannot justify a low teens gas mileage for a daily driver, plus I also have an E36 M3 for the occasional track car. So the 335is it is...just seemed perfect in every way - fast, stylish, that amazing exhaust, decent mileage, and the fact that it's a bit special and rare. August 26 cannot get here soon enough. The wait is painful. I keep checking the tracking site for status updates several times a day. Last edited by PKizzle; 06-21-2011 at 09:59 PM.. Reason: Update |

So close yet so far...
Hello all, Long time reader, first time poster... Recently placed an order for 335is in Alpine White w/ Black int... ( I know not the most original, but go with what you know..) and all the bells and whistles..
Took a test drive last yr when they first hit the dealers and was blown away. And now that I am soon to be back in country, what better way to celebrate than taking delivery at the Performance Center right before an east coast road trip... Pics will be soon to follow, hopefully none include the cops tasering me after the third speeding ticket...
