The only way your new seats could move is if you had electrical seats before.

Concerning the airbag light, you need a cable with INPA to remove the error. If you read the thread, you will see that I had the same issue.
My current seats have electrics to tilt and up/down, the M-Sport seats do not have heat as far as i can tell from the pins as pin 9 is missing, please find attached some diagrams a drew up as a comparison between M-sport and standard seat (Passengers side). Marked in red are the pins

As you can see pin- 2,3,7,8 are on the M-Sport seats and not my standard setup.

Do you have heating module under the passenger seat? Small black box?

IMHO, they are
2- K can H (if the colour is green orange)
3- K can L (if the colour is green)
7- steady plus for lumbar & side bolster (if the colour is red/black)
8- Earth / Ground wire (if the colour is brown)

HTH.

Yup that's what i got as well, first things first im going to grab a feed to wire 7) from wire 4) and ground for 8) from 13)

I don't see why the seats should not function if K_CAN wires are missing from the passengers seat i expect at least some functionality fingers crossed.

makkan00 I think you may be right the seats perhaps have heat, not near them now to take a picture but the black box underneath looks similar to the attached picture, strange as pins for heating module are missing according to the wiring diagrams, spending the weekend at these so hope I gather enough information

What specs are your car?
Euro , american or great Britain?
Thats is seat module and controls hearing as well.
Thats usually on driver seat.
Seems like your seats are from LHD and your car is RHD.

Nope that picture i grabbed was from the Net as I remember thats the box thats present under both seats, the seats are setup for a RHS drive as the memory setting are on the drivers side only, the heating unit is a smaller black box I think? from what i can find on my searches, I'm living in Ireland by the way. Hopefully picking up the wiring gear tonight

RHD makkan00, attached are photos of both seats, what i can make out is the black boxes are the control units. Memory switches are only on the drivers side obviously. what has me still a bit confused is why K_CAN pins are present on the passengers side, still a noob here but getting more knowledge by the day.

Typical on bmw:
Driver seat: seat module: big black box and it controls heating as well through kcan system.
Passenger seat: heating module and connected to bmw modules through wiring.

In your case: both of those are seat modules (don't know why) and hence passenger side requires kcan wires for the heating to operate.

Read the thread again , Sh$% this has me worried, Do some passenger seats have memory??, this makes no sense to me but why else would they have CAN pins , I'm going to go at it on Saturday and see how I get on, because the control units are present do you think both seats have heating? I didnt get this from my pin layputs, picked up cable today, getting some mini connectors tomorrow and going to search for the CAN cables in the subwoofer later.

Try to understand how your seat are built with the wiring diagrams in WDS. You can found the database on internet (web or download).

Thanks to all especially OP and other who have contributed positively to this thread.
I have retrofitted Sports leather heated seats with memory and finally they are working. I moved from simple cloth seats to fully electric so had to lay all the wiring from zero.
Great thread.

B/w has anybody noticed that passenger seats takes a while to heat compared to driver seat.

P.S: I have seat module on driver side and heating module on the passenger side.

Check first if you really have switches on your seats?
If yes, then you need to add new wirings for those options.
Or clone them from the existing wirings.

Help needed

Hi guys sorry to drop in like this but really need help.
I have 10-2006 EUR build date 335i e90 sedan pre-fl i have manual no heating basic seats, i do have i-drive navi.

recently i bought 25-11-2010 buld date(says on doorpanels and many tags) alcantara mystic blue M-sport seats with lumbar/side bolsters/electric memory seats dont know if they have heating.I think they dont? cause i dont have heating module and K-Can pins on passenger side.(the car had damage from back)

So basicly i have to do alotta wires to make it work.I have read this thread a countless times but i still dont undarstand a couple things i would really appreciate if you guys could help me do this the right way.Iam very low
on budget so i need to do this on my own.

1.The seats are from a crash car so the drivers seatbelt tensioner has been used so i need to get a raplecment i dont think the one from the standart seat would fit(would be nice tho) i dont know if the airbag is been used cause i dont see anything odd on the seats.

2.I have noticed that the headrest doesnt come off so they have that headrest AFAIK so i dont know if that is used or broken i hope they are just fine and can work with my car without dashlights cause my car didnt have that option at production date.

3.I know i have to wire pin2 and 3 drivers seat to K-Can for memory.pretty easy i think soldering to idrive controller or somewhere else.
pin 4 and 7 for +12 power from fusebox to seat but dont know exactly wich slots of the fusebox i should use on my car?
pin8 and 13 for ground to fusebox/seatbolt is it a good idea to use the bolt for ground or is it better to try find other ground.
i did found that seat heating is 29(5amp),32,49 in fusebox and seat power 32,33,37,49.they are all 30 amp but my seat is pin 7 for power so 10 amp how can i resolve this?

4.I have to do same on passenger side except Kcan because there are no K-Can wires on seatside.
are there 2 fuseboxes on each sides or do i have to take te wires from 1 fusebox and split them for both sides?

5. i have to do programming so that memory and adjustment will work and maybe seat heating if its there.

6. the airbag wires dont match up in color is that an issue?

plz guys help me out on this one

David

Hier is the pinout i have atm.

You will find the K-Can line running next to your handbrake. Just connect the wires there and you will be good to go.
