Free CarFax Hack
Go to cars.com, search for a car, and while you're in the listings, look for one that says free carfax report under it, click the link
Change the vin where it says vin=. The vin ends at "&" It should then pull up the carfax for the car Let me know if it does/doesn't work Example= http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?vin=WBSWD93509PY43851&partner=COO_0 Change this^ to the VIN you want (Don't click the link) I have found that it will only work a couple of times a day http://www.cars.com Last edited by vexx786; 08-26-2009 at 04:31 PM.. Reason: Previous method did not work |

I don't get it, I did it four times with a hyundai (dont ask) and it worked...It then stopped, but I figured it only lets you get a certain amount of free carfax from cars.com before stopping. Strange... Try clearing cookies...

Well I just tried it again on a Nissan and it worked again. I'm using firefox and I cleared my cookies doing and it worked. I'm not really sure why it doesn't work for some if you guys. But it's nice to see that it did work for someone else.

When you click that link (in the first comment) it gets a blank page but then you type the VIN after the "vin=" bit and voila carfax |

No the vin was not free since it was a private seller. Trying clicking free on a different listing and see if it works. I really don't know what to say the people that it doesn't work for, just try using firefox, clearing cookies, and using a different listing. That's all I can say...
