Is the Verizon DVR good enough though? Can it record "new episodes" ala the "season pass" feature in DTV. I used to have Direct TV but switched to Dish Network coz they had more HD channels. You could say I'm a HD whore. FIOS just became available in my area and was thinking of switching. Mr. F1 Fan mentioned they have a lot of HD? How does it compare to Dish Network.

(I have Dish Network w/HD, Verizon landline and Adelphia (now Comcast) internet. )

Btw, I'm a big F1 fan also. 'Cept I root for the BMW team.

There (verizon's) HD content just expanded a month or so ago and supposedly it will be growing further this year. I would recommend going to their website and checking out the content. I must say, overall they have enough to keep me happy. If you like the sports channels though, like season pass sort of stuff, I still think Direct is the way to go if you can get a good signal. I just installed their new mpeg4 HD DVR at my dads house in Charlottesville and the DVR is great compared to my Verizon FIOS motorola box. I do expect verizon to be installing new boxes soon and that may change my mind a bit, but for now, My first choice would still be Directv.

The new BMW team is showing well right now. By virtue of my last name alone, I am of Polish decent, so I find myself oddly supportive of Kubica who I think is one of the guys to watch. He has already shown he is quite capable.

Thanks, guys, for the good info about FIOS. Verizon installed their main cables in neighborhood streets last week and I expect they will go live in a few months. I have Comcast now--broadband has been mostly fine, save for a few outages, but HD programming is pathetic. I'm looking forward to FIOS.
