Downpipes

Hey guys, I'm a noob when it comes to mods...

Any advice about downpipes, brand to get, and are they healthy/unhealthy for the car?
I've spoken to a few mechanics and they've shared mixed opinions, so I figured the forums are where the real experts are

DP's is one of your best investments when it comes to mods. To get the best out of them though you should also tune (plenty of options).

They will help increase exhaust flow, less stress on turbos/engine and can help you increase boost to higher levels safer...don't see what's so bad about them lol

(More pollution) haha

Sweet thanks for the info! I do have the cobb tune. I was reading on another forum that AR has the best downpipes? They're around $900, but the burgertuning has dp's for $380... I guess I'll do some more investigatin!

I would suggest vrsf. Good quality. Great exhaust note, less stress on turbo, greater flow and maybe some gains.

Pipes are pipes are pipes...you'll see great gains from any of the vendor DP's.

AR's are expensive, but have a proven track record and best fit. Although, I've had VRSF's before and they were great for less than half the price. They now have a v2 so fit should be better. BMS's are great too and available locally through Mike.

But as I said, pipes are pipes
