Run after would have been fast too, but during my burnout the DME reset for some reason and turned the DSC back on. So I launched into a brick wall, launch put me so hard back into my seat it cracked my back so I expected a 10sec pass but alas cut short. Damn you DSC. at the boost I'm running it's seriously quick already. Monday I'll get a new mac valve and jam it back on a dyno to check the mixures at 29psi or so. and then if the missus isn't too on me I'll take it out wednesday for another hit. having a strange throttle closure problem which I need to sort out as well, once I sort all the little things out and get some power into it, I'll do a couple half tracks to see where it's at and then run it out the proverbial back door hopefully with a mid to high 9 second pass. |

No Heath. I don't believe I could improve too much on the 11.28s without some other changes like more power or a higher stall torque converter. The car has spent the last few weeks at Fulcrum Suspensions replacing all the bushes in the rear end with Super Pro items. They changed some bushes 3 times until they got ones that were stiff enough to handle the torque. I couldn't knock the effort put in by them. The owner personally got involved to ensure a satisfactory result was achieved. It is all good now. Whether I can justify putting more money into getting more power from a 10yr old vehicle is the issue. A standard 2006 E92 335i is now worth less than $20,000. PI, Stage 3 LPFP and 100% E85 tune will cost around $5,000.

I have no doubt that will be the case. It's just a matter of working out the correct boost to leave the line on and actually turning DSC off. otherwise you go nowhere in a hurry as I worked out. I only got 1 clean run. And then the line up was just too long for me to bother anymore! |

Just insane... I've been following this build on your instagram for a while. can't wait to see you tear into the 9's! 17psi + e85 on that GTW should be netting you about 600 whp. 30 psi will be 750-800+ whp. I'd start looking into mass producing that adapter plate because one you get that 9 second pass, people will be wanting to get a powerglide.

I thought about producing the plates but then I figured surely not that many people want to go cutting up a bmw and making a 1960s gearbox fit. Surely I'm the only one that stupid lol |

Dude I can't believe how incredible this build is and really pushing this platform not only in Australia, but the world. Most people are aiming to break into the 10s and here you are aiming for 9s. Much respect! This is fast becoming my favourite car here and absolutely different and unique compared to the other E9x cars that have a lot of the stuff just copied from others!

You seriously need to go away. You came in here and spent more time just to piss on what you mistook as a thread title mistake instead of focusing on the awesome work this guy has done to his car. You fail. |

What goes to show what a difference has been made is the OPs ingenuity, the effectiveness of the 2 speed, slicks and his dedicated hard work. Are you butthurt someone over here will shit on all US records soon or something? |

Lol. What a tripper. 'murica.
Anyway, Carbon LCI boot arrived today, Seibon brand. Quality is good. but I'm a little disappointed, the boot to hinge bolt holes are M6 where on the factory boot they are M8. Also the hole for the key hole to stick through isn't drilled into the boot, so I have no emergency key access at this point, quite annoying. And the material is too thick to get the number plate lights to mount again. Not the biggest drama in the world, but like, it's not a cheap chinese knock off, it's a genuine item that should at least be a direct fit and not fuck me around. Whatever lol. So Now I'm just waiting on the LCI tail lights to arrive and I can respray the car and repair all the small dints etc so it looks respectable again. Also someone on the other forum directed me to ground the DME wire for the clutch module to make the DME think the clutch pedal is always out. This has worked. However it has not fixed my cruise control, it still doesn't work, for whatever reason. (fuck you cruise control you bitch) but I now have the JB4 reading a gear which is the main thing I wanted. The JB4 reading gear will be benefical down the track as I can limit boost by gear 1, 2 and 3 (which should effectively be first gear and maybe the start of second) to allow me to stage the boost down the track. Also replaced my MAC valve today and took it for a drive, map7 still runs 17psi. Back to the drawing board. Something is playing up and because of that I don't have a working boost control. Annoying me. I'll borrow a wastegate off a friend tomorrow and get it on the dyno to check if changing wastegates fixes my problem. If not it's a setup problem with the JB4 maybe? Once I get this boost control problem fixed. I'm pretty confident I'll take that N54 record fairly easily and then I'll chase the 9 second mark down. |
