Washing the Car
Can anyone tell me what products they use to wash their cars?
Also, my car is two weeks old and I found small scratches on it can anyone recomend a product to hide them? I know BMW sells their own scratch remover as well as touch up paint but it isnt that noticible a scratch (except to me) Thanks for your help. Mike |

2 Sheepskin wash mitts
2 buckets, 1 gritt guard Meguiars gold class shampoo foam gun go to detailedimage.com..great products, great prices those small scratches are most likely swirl marks that can be removed only by a buffer and polish keep a good few coats of wax on the car and you will dimish the swirl marks, also read the sticky in the detailing section for properly washing a car. |

the small scratches are probably swirls that are due to either you or the dealer washing the car improperly. Like said above, use sheepskin mitts and a gritguard when washing. However, properly washing will only prevent new swirls from appearing, not remove the old ones.
For that, you need a random orbit buffer, something like the Porter Cable 7424. I like the Optimum line of prodcucts so I would use their polish on either a yellow or white pad. Then, some sort of sealant like Megs 21. Follow with a carnuba wax that doesn't have any sort of cleaners in it. I order my stuff from Detailer's Domain or Autogeek.

It's not a swirl mark. Its a real scratch like if someone was walking buy it with something metal and hit it (its on the front bumper and it's not very noticible) but its a straight line.

i see...the optimum polish might take it out like I mentioned, or you might have to step it up to their compound. It depends on how deep it is, but its hard to get out by hand

P21s Products all around. Love them and BMW approved FTW!
I get my stuff from carcareonline.com and they are based in NJ also for super quick shipping.
