there are a number of vendors that will ship gas to you in 5, 10 , and barrels to you.

It is on the Northwest corner of Birmingham Hwy and Crabapple Road. This is downtown Crabapple (if you can call it a downtown).

i thought about going in to ask, but it was too damn cold except to just hit the res button and sit in the car... plus my wife was already asking where the hell I was ("I'm getting some gas just off of 400)...i'll check again next time I'm up in atlanta....

Hey guys, I've filled up with 100 octane at this Shell station. They have 100 octane nozzles at each pump, but I believe only pump #6 is functional. Also, you'll need to go inside and inform the attendant that you want to pump 100 octane. They don't have the "race gas" nozzles enabled all the time, because people will mistakenly pump 100 octane instead of others. The address and phone number are:
Crabapple Shell 12690 Crabapple Rd, Alpharetta, GA (770) 664-2248 It's like $8/gallon, but my car ran great with Procede V2 @ 94%. Buttery smooth and tons of power/torque.

good to know... I will have to go in next time. Sucks because I was almost on empty, and it would have been interesting to see how the car responded to the increased octane.

Another station
Just so everyone knows, there is a station in Hiawassee (sp?) just over Helen Mountain that sells race gas at the pump. It's at a Chevron station but it's sunoco fuel.

And we have 93 octane at all our pumps here in Georgia, so what's your point... the thread is about race fuel

I know I'm resurrecting a slightly old thread, but the Pit Stop in Peachtree City at the intersection of HWY 74 and Crosstown has Sunoco 100 at the pumps. I was amazed to hear it since it's like 5 minutes from my house.

I can't find anywhere in Alabama to buy racing fuel either. Guess I will just have to order some 5 gallon drums
I can get 5 gallon cans of Sunoco GT+ (104 octane) which is "oxygenated" which I guess means it has some ethanol in it, or I can get the Sunoco GTX which is 98 octane and not "oxygenated". Both are about $50 plus shipping. I think the oxygen content in the GT+ is only 4-4.5% so still alot lower than pump gas... VP stuff is way more expensive, like C10 is non-oxygenated and 100 octane but it is about $80 for a 5 gallon can! All of these are unleaded btw. |

I've been running 100 in it for the last couple of tanks just to see how the car likes it (and it does). Power delivery w/ the 100 feels much smoother with the jb3 tune. I'm running on map 8 now and will be taking it over to Allspeed (right behind the avenue and post office) tomorrow, Tuesday Aug 18 @ 5:00 for a dyno run if you wanna stop by. As far as mods go: Clutchmasters kevlar clutch w/ Dinan flywheel, AR ******* downpipes, Dinan intercooler (spearco core), BMS DCI, JB3 (will run map 7 and/or 8 at dyno), M6 rep wheels with goodyear F1 assymetrical tires, Dinan suspension w/ camber plates, and a Rix boost gauge (it should be wired to the JB3 tonight when I get some time to hook it up). BTW, Allspeed is a great shop. I don't know if you've ever been there, but I'd not hesitate in taking my car there for anything. I don't know if I've seen your car in town yet (I try and look out for other bimmers), but I'd love to see the blacklines. I'd also love to see your car get dynoed since it'd give a good point of comparison between modded and unmodded 335's. |
