production info...
Hey all.
I ordered a 2008 E92 335 coupe recently and got a production number. However when I go to bmw.com and try to create an account. My production number comes up as a 2003 330ci Black nice car but not exactly what I am looking for!!! I understand that they reuse production numbers after a while and confirmed my car is in "112" status with BMW. How long does it normally take for a production number to be trackable on bmw.com? Even better does anyone have an idea how long I should expect it to take? Any other orders placed last week of April have a more firm date yet? Also thanks for all of the info on this site. Going in armed makes the whole buying purchase much more enjoyable. |

We have similar order dates and similar problems with the OC site...so my chronology to date might be helpful to you....The best info I got so far was calling the 800 number and actually speaking to one of the reps (there system seems to be pretty up to date). Here is my chronology so far: Deposit date- 4/30/08 Order Placed- 5/6/08 5/7/08BMWNA rep estimates a week 20 production 5/8/08 BMWNA rep estimates week 20 production…but said its showing up as “Production started” 5/9/08 OC finally showing right car. Says “scheduled for production.” 5/9/08 BMWNA Rep says it started production yesterday (5/8) and is awaiting entry into the bodyshop. Also said production process is typically 5-7 days. 5/10/08 800 automated message says “vehicle is in production with an estimated completion date of may 16th.” 5/13/08 BMWNA Rep says its still just showing a production start date of 5/8…but no further progress (didn’t enter body shop)…800 number still says “vehicle is in production with an estimated completion date of may 16th.” 5/14/08 800 number says “your vehicle is in the body shop with an estimated completion date of May 16th.” Hope it all helps.. hang in there. |

I ordered right around the same time, end of April (I'm sure there are a ton of us who wanted to beat the 3.9% expiration). I was given a production week of 23 (learned from the BMWNA 1-800 number rep), but OC still lists my car as a 2001 330i and the automated 1-800 system still says I am scheduled for production with no confirmed production date. It's a rather imperfect system...
