PTP - All they do is high end car suspension and race car suspension. They specialize in it and are damn good at it. Not only that but they have VERY low prices. I think because they don't waste money on other equipment, all their money goes into suspension work so they can do it well with the right equipment at great prices.

Thank you guys!

Called them today, and they told me $99 for one time alignment, and $150 for 1 year alignment/adjustment. Also mount and balance tires for $17! Not bad.

They will mount your tires with a Hunter touchless mounting machine and balance them with a Hunter road force balancer. You simply can't get better equipment or service for $17.

^ Yeap! Might be going there Thurs...I'm just gonna pull the trigger on the one year adjustment thing for $150...not a bad price. Moritz charges like 179 or something for alignment..

welcome to the evo to bmw convert club man

i'm pretty sure PTP doesn't have a road force balancing machine. also, we have found the balancer they are using might be out of calibration or being used improperly (center balancing instead of inside/outside balancing). i've recently rebalanced some wheels that had bad road vibrations they were unable to fix after repeated attempts.

with that said, the road force balancing isn't something most people worry about, and i beleive it is more of a gimmick then something useful. that would be an interesting test though, anyone with road force balanced wheels wanna bring them by to see if my balancer says they are balanced or not?

I've got a P-C, assortment of pads and a bunch of product if you'd like to borrow it or work in a detail session one weekend. Let me know and I'll bring it over sometime.

Thanks. I was thinking about buying all of my own product, pads, ect. And then trying to find someone to either share or borrow their PC. I don't see myself using it all the time, and for the 2-3 times a year it seems like it might be overkill until I can find a used one for a good price. Autogeeks has a decent sale right now 15% off and free ship over $95.

KevinD...imagine that...didn't think you were jumping to BMW too. Last we spoke you were looking at M3's and didn't want anything to do with them.

But PTP does have the road force balancer...that's what they used on mine. From the way I remember it looks like a regular balance machine but with an extra arm on it with a roller. And it pressed down on my tire while spinning. This is what I remember them using on my BBS's:

That was about 8mo ago...perhaps I was smoking weed; or maybe they were renting it...but that's what I remember them using.

i almost bought the e90 m3 several years ago. glad i didn't because they depreciate way to fast for me, and the mpg is just outragiously horrible (my tundra does better). i will be sure to step into a m3 with a turbo though when they come out

i have worked on several of the new m3's though, pretty straight forward cars to work on.

i got my 335xi last november and have been tinkering with it a bit. we are making a 3" exhaust for it, have the JB4 already, and my other 335i has the jb4, intake, IC pipes, downpipes, and needs the exhaust i'm building cause its current one sounds awful.

unless PTP replaced the balancer somewhat recently, this one is just a generic balancer:

i've never heard anyone mention that it was a road force balancer either. i had a set done there before i got my machines, and marc didn't mention it either when he was doing it.

I must have been smoking crack on the balancer...cause the pic you linked to is exactly how I remember it now. Sorry.

spark plug replacement

Just curious if any of you guys have priced out the local shops for spark plug replacement? I'm due to have mine replaced, but I'm pretty sure Classic wouldn't be the cheapest option. I don't have the time to call around this morning
