Bumper Painting Group Buy Any Interest?

Hey guys, its finally spring season now and many of you guys are planning to upgrade some body parts

Well anyways, I was wondering if any of you guys were interested in saving some money having new body parts painted and installed like M3 bumper's, Mtech bumpers, etc. If we do it as a group, we can help each other out and save some funds on paint and install.

Well I have spoken with my body shop, Velocity Autobody near Markville Mall on Heritage Rd who has worked on my E46 as well as my E90 and done a great job and the owner Barry, who is very down to earth and himself drives a E90 M3 is willing to help the community out.

Here is url to their web page
http://www.velocityautobody.com

Reg. Price for painting a BRAND NEW UNPAINTED Bumper is usually 350$ with installation, however if we can get 5 bumpers, Barry mentioned that he can lower the price by 70$ to 280$ per bumper painted and installed.

*****Additional Services that count towards group buy*****
1. Repainting Bumper - 350$
2. Repainting hood - 400$

Group List
1. e90mbition (Parts Dropped Off)
2. Volasko (Bumper + Hood Respray = 750$)
3. HighPSI (Bumper respray = 350$)
4. FastnUgly (Parts Dropped Off)
5. MichaelSerom (unpainted LCI M3 Front paint = 280$)
6.
7.
8.

Once we have 6 pieces we are good to go and we can then proceed to book our individual appointments with Velocity and have our parts dropped off.

This is just to see if theres any interest, you guys can PM me if interested and we can arranged

How about just paint, no installed required? He quoted me 250 for just paint last summer.

That was last years price as prices had already gone up as I had my E46 front bumper painted for that same price last March. Material costs go up every year. Regarding installing by yourself, Maybe you will save 30$? I will ask and confirm with him and keep you guys posted for any updates.

Painting panels.

Sounds like a deal. What kind of paint is being used on these panels by the shop. Painting hoods/fenders/doors all require blending into the adjacent panels, even bumpers sometimes would require blending into both fenders. The last thing anyone needs is a brand new panel that does not match the adjacent ones. BMW especially uses a very high end paint/clear coat on their vehicles, it must be matched. Majority of the BMW's that we have painted in our shop required us to use our paint scanner with multiple spray out cards to get the metallics to match OEM paint. Just something to look out for.

There were some negative reviews on 350z forum for Velocity and Barry knows that and wants to prove its quality and workmanship to the community.

I've had great experiences dealing with them and had my Orient Blue E46 quarter panel repainted and the paint match was really good. I've also had my e46 M3 bumper painted there and my E90 Mtech rear painted there with great color match and very good quality work.

And yup they are close to StreetExtreme

Thanks. I was thinking to have my front end re-sprayed. Does special rate of $280 only apply for painting new bumpers?

Hey guys, I just got back from Velocity Autobody and Barry has been very helpful and here is the pic, if you guys notice, the right side grill has a slight gap, however Barry said it can be adjusted back and I will be going back to his shop next week for adjustment and won't be an issue.

The bumper is the same ones from the sponsors and it will just be a bit of tweaking to get it to sit 100%, aside from that fitment is 9/10.

THe paint job is really good as usual as I have dealt with Barry before an I had my rear Mtech bumper painted there a year ago and have no issues and colour is perfect. I have also attached a pic of my rear that Barry painted and installed.

The rear bumpers been holding up real well, I even got rear ended by a friend and the clear coat was thick enough, my friend used some polish and its good again.

For those who are still interested for bumper painting on a fresh bumper for 280$ or respray for 350$, please PM me and hoods I talked to Barry are 400$ for repaint.

********UPDATE****************
I have fixed the gap myself and found out that it was my mistake as I have opened the hood and moved the rubber seals and did not put them back properly and as a result made one side of the hood sit higher. I have fixed that issue and fitment is pretty much 10/10 now and I am very satisfied and the paint is very high quality
