Ipod no bass

I have the logic 7 system with ipod hookup and just recently when playing the ipod I have been losing all bass and am just left with a kind of tinny sound and no bass. Sometimes if I shut off the ipod and then turn it back on, things return to normal but sometimes not. This happens only with ipod, I can turn on the radio when the ipod is having issues and it then sounds fine with full bass. Anybody have this issue or have any ideas what's causing this? I'm using an ipod nano if makes a difference.....

You haven't told us if you tested the ipod with headphones for extended periods of time to eliminate the ipod itself being the issue (which can be very likely given Apple's track record of unreliability, at least in my experience)

It sounds fine when listening with headphones.....I guess I never really listen with headphones for as long as I do in the car; never had a problem with headphones though...

As far as I know, the auxillary input and cd/radio all goes through the same sound processing hardware inside the unit. Question is if you lose the bass right away when listening to the ipod through the logic 7 or if it takes a while (i.e longer than the time you usually listen to the ipod with headphones). You should try listening to the ipod through headphones or an external set of speakers via a docking station, etc... to rule out the ipod, because 95% chance the ipod is your issue
