I just added the heated seat option to the VO and I am still not getting any functionality from the passenger seat. The driver seat is working since before the coding.

you should not only add heated seat option to VO but to code modules using that VO, IHKA,JBE,SMFA

so you'll need to bring 4 additional wires from fusebox and junction box and ground junction in passenger footwell to the seat 1. main positive 2. main negative 3. seat module activation positive 4. seat heating regulation wire (PWM) here is scheme https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...s-side/xCp9ATT you can see how these wires look like in my topic, left wire pack on the pics https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1512516 for the test purposes you can wire first three wires from wires already coming to seat, but forth wire you should have from jbe

Okay I understand what to do, thanks. One last question. What are the wire gauges for these wires? I can get wire from work so I want to keep the same gauge as what was installed from the factory.

Also, do you have part numbers for the pins I’ll need at the seat connector and the fuse box/junction box connectors?

Okay guys! Final update on my heated seat retrofit as I've finished the install earlier today.
Story - Build of 07/2007 335i. Drivers side worked as soon as I plugged in the heated seat buttons. Passenger side needed coding, fuses, and wiring. The wires I ran were: Passenger seat connector pin 1 to pin 38 x14270 (long skinny connector at the back of junction box Passenger seat connector pin 5 to pin 10 X11001 (top left connector on back of fuse panel, looking from glove box into fuse panel) Passenger seat connector pin 8 to ground Passenger seat connector pin 9 to pin 3 X11001 (top left connector on back of fuse panel, looking from glove box into fuse panel)

for e92/e93 it is, because they have combined seat modules on both seats
for e90/e91 you have to make additional wiring

Bumping this up a bit since it seems like the Bible of the topic. I feel like I’ve read every thread on the subject and am confusing myself more at this point.
Like you all, I’m looking to add heated seats to my car with OEM equipment. My car is a 2011/LCI E90 M3 with power/lumbar/memory seats, but no heat. Is it correct that all I need to do is swap in factory LCI (M3) power/lumbar/memory/heated seats, replace the HVAC button panel to add heater buttons, and code them? I am not interested in or capable of doing any wiring or upholstery work. I bet someone local could help with the coding in exchange for lunch when the time comes. Just want to confirm that my power/memory modules will work and that my wiring will suppprt the heating elements. I thought it would but above it talks about wiring for the passenger side.... hm. Would appreciate any confirmation or feedback. Thanks! Last edited by wyatth; 02-10-2019 at 11:14 PM.. |

You will need to make sure that the new seats are for the same age car (or newer), if they are from an older car then you will need to code out the active headrest.

Does anyone know can you fit the manual seat bases to electric seats , my car e90 325d se is manual adjustment and all the nice seats have electric bases but I'm not bothered about pressing buttons as the manual adjustment is faster .

I have a 2008 pre LCI e91 325d SE touring, decided to buy some 2011 sport LCI seats from a 335i. got them in and working no problem, now getting an inspection error message as well as having to set the clock each time i start the car. i did disconnect the battery before doing it. it's also now showing 40 degrees c outside in london, which is obviously incorrect
any ideas what this could be? |

Have you cleared the errors with a diag tool?
That would be the first thing to do, if they come back, then check what the codes are. I didn't disconnect my battery when i did mine, and had no errors or problems.
