What temp does the oil cooler thermostat open at

What temp does the oil cooler thermostat allow oil to flow through the oil radiator.

Or does it always let a small amount?

Like I had this thought in my my mind, and ok I know it might sound stupid for some but I'm just curious about the operation and all.

If in the winter my oil would never hit hot enough to open the cooler t stat could it possibly cause the insides of the rad to rust or gunk up?

Unless it's always like semi open?

And oil flow in the cooler rad is filtered oil right so if I pick up some gunk from the insides of it it's going straight to my engine?
