How can I tell if I have AGM or Lead-Acid Battery
I'm about to hook up my car to the battery charger (coding, mhd tune, etc.) and I'm trying to figure out if I have an AGM or Lead Acid so I know what setting to put the charger on, and the thing is, the dealer replaced the battery before I bought this car back in the summer, so I don't even know what they put.
When I checked however, I managed to grab "Autopart Intl NWBH8A900" from the battery, and when I searched about that, I've gotten nothing in return. What kind of battery did they throw in my car, there's almost little to none info about the simplest thing Last edited by E92_James; 02-04-2019 at 03:48 PM.. |

If you have the right tools to read out the battery's information (INPA, Foxwell 510/520, etc.) you can see what capacity it says that it's programmed for. AGM's will have 1 added to their capacity, so a 90Ah AGM will be 91, where a 90Ah flooded cell lead acid will read 90. The battery capacity is shown in INPA as "Batterie Kapazitat in Ah".
I'd be worried if that battery is such an unknown that they were probably using the cheapest thing available and probably didn't register it or program it's type and capacity in the vehicle either. The INPA Infofeld 1 screen for the battery management should show mileage (in km) when the battery was replaced. That shows any time a battery had been registered. See the other battery threads on here for more information. |
