And the wait begins to hear back if cn555ic can custom code gauge sweeping.
I can imagine the amount of money from forum members that would want something like this. And cn555ic remote coding e9x's across the US.

I don't think even he can do this. I really think you'd be better speaking to a custom mapper to see if this could be added to a remap...

You can send commands from the OBD port. Shiv did it with the OFT to enable gauge hijacking, but could only get it to work with DCAN. The question I have is why? I see no value add in gauge hijacking or even sweeping on startup. I know a lot of cars have it and I guess it would be cool if you can enable it via coding, but I don't have time...

Here is my idea of gauge hijacking....

Indeed, there is little value to this feature. Although come to think of it there is little value in 50% of coding mods. But it's still a cool feature I guess.

It must be possible to run a modified KOMBI 'test' routine on startup. I'm gonna look into this side of it as opposite to gauge hijack via OBD.

If I knew where or the basis of coding, I'd attempt this.

It's probably something really simple... knowing what to change is the hard part.
