Code gauge cluster to display tire pressure values - Is it possible?
Hi all,
Im trying to find a way to have the gauge cluster on my 2009 135i to display the actual tire pressure values per corner. I know know other makes such as Chevrolet can do this via the cluster. Is this something that is possible on our cars? I feel it would be helpful for track days as well as cold days when the tire pressure drops. Can it be done? Thanks |

Pretty sure it's only possible in the F series.

Hopefully someone with some coding back ground can fill us in on if it can be done. I would love to see which tire is low when my TPMS light comes on.

I know how to code. It's not possible on the E series.

I don't know of any software that can do it for a E series. I don't even think the sensors are capable of transmitting that info.

INPA can display tire pressure and temperature. E90 > Chassis > Tire Pressure Monitoring > <F5> Read Status > <F4> Wheelektronik Telegramm 1 The pressure readings seem too high to me when compared to my analog BMW tire gauge. My rear right tire was ~31.5 psi or ~2.17 bar. The temperature readings seem fairly accurate when compared to an infrared thermometer.

I think a quality tire gauge would be the better choice for the track and if temperature is that big of a concern then a infrared temp sensor too. Both would be easier to have at the track as opposed to a laptop.

good stuff 808AWD325xi!
Maybe the sensor being on the inside of the tire see's a higher pressure? Either way this is huge. So after seeing this, could you have it display tire pressures to the gauge cluster? or... would it be possible to read the inpa from your phone? Inpa is a Windows based program that is part of BMW Standard Tools 2.12. You'd need a device that runs Windows XP at a minimum and meets the system requirements of the programs. And no, you can't get it to show in the gauge cluster.
