Thumbs up Finally....pics of my new E90 M3 DCT

Hi all, as some of you know i picked the car up last week but due to excessive swirl marks i have not posted up any pics yet. The car was sorted by a local (part time) detailer last night and he has done a fantastic job - the tab has been picked up by the UK dealership who sold me the car.

I fitted the satin chrome kidney grills last week but decided to get my local dealership to fit the matching side gills as i did not trust myself.......should have done it myself - they broke one of the plastic vents The guy at the desk told me there was no charge for fitting which was a pleasant surprise..................until the mechanic came through and told him that he had broken the plastic vent - he then produced a bill for 75 Euro and explained that because they now have to order the part in they would have to charge for the installation else they would be out of pocket Paid them and told them that after they have re fitted the new vent (going up tomorrow) i would not be back - they f***ed up a few jobs on my 335i as well. He told me he would give me a discount on the 1200 mile service.........i declined and told him i would rather pay the full amount and have a competent dealership do it (is there such a thing!?) I've got the car booked in at a different dealership for the service on Monday (car has 800 miles on the clock at the moment)

Anyway to the car - love it, can't wait until next week when i can open it up a bit. I will post a full (objective and impartial!) comparison review against my old 335i next week.

I have taken quite a lot of pics from different angles and in different lighting conditions as Jerez Black is a difficult colour to capture accurately - i had never seen the colour IRL before i ordered and pics on the forum helped me out - i am by no means a good photographer but the pics show the colour quite accurately and may help someone else who is looking to order a car in Jerez. I am happy with the Palladium Silver interior although the true colour is not really shown in my pics - it is quite close but not exact....very hard to show this colour as it appears IRL.

My 'order' thread can be found here and has the cars spec etc if anyone is interested:

Here are the pics:

Lovely car, but surprised you kept RHD - is it not a bit of a faff getting in and out of automated car parks ?

I do not live permanently in Germany - i could be back in the UK at any time. Also have you seen the price of a LHD E90 M3 in Germany compared to the UK? A similarly specced car in Germany would cost over £75K.......i'll put up with the automated car parks etc

Take it you get paid in Sterling then ? Euros and especially the Swiss Franc are over 25% better in the exchange rate against the pound this last year.

Still have your little runaround for the car parks ?

Paid in Sterling - bought the car from the UK. Still got the Clio but haven't driven it for a week for some reason

Thanks, TBH i think you can't go wrong with any colour combo on this car but there is something about a clean black car that makes me smile more than any other colour!

No mate it was me! I haven't seen my wife properly since taking delivery of the car - the pic was just a joke! She likes the car and colour but she would have been just as happy with a Zafira (probably happier!)

Thanks mate - i like the OEM look TBH but if i was going to start some proper modding i would definately be looking at your car for some inspiration. Not saying i won't do anything else though........would consider dropping the car but not at the expense of handling.

Looks very nice. Jerez looks quite like Carbon Black to me - is it similar, lighter, darker?

I assume the dealer was German? I always found them very good, and reasonably priced. When my local German dealer did the 1200 service on my M3 I did get charged about 180EUR but Park Lane reimbursed me in full as on a UK car the 1200 mile service was free (I assume it still is on an E90?) - and you clearly have a UK car.

Whatever you do - make sure the 1200 mile service gets stamped & keep the invoice, as if you do it in Germany it may not come up on the UK system come resale time - and you really need to be able to prove it was done to any future buyer (warranty etc.)
