You can send commands from the OBD port. Shiv did it with the OFT to enable gauge hijacking, but could only get it to work with DCAN. The question I have is why? I see no value add in gauge hijacking or even sweeping on startup. I know a lot of cars have it and I guess it would be cool if you can enable it via coding, but I don't have time...
