I've been debating getting one anyway. It kind of feels like, if you MUST drop money on a device, you might as well start there and decide if it's satisfactory.

Does the 1000 no longer work? I have a 1000 in my car and everything works but the steering wheel controls. They used to work but now the car automatically sees it as a regular aux input so I have to control everything through the phone. Should I upgrade to a WMA3000?

No, that just means your y cable is dying, which is why the 3000 exists: to
Circumvent shitty cables causing support tickets.

Not that I "MUST" spend money, but to be safe and legal, I "MUST" not touch my phone to skip a track

Since I'm on Android, the WMA3000B won't even display the current song playing, right? So I suppose that the Button would add all the functionality I need, if I can just decide where I would want to stick it.

EDIT: I think I found something to fix the Satechi Button nice and clean to the vent (I'd stick it to the gray thingy to the button, without using the ball) :

Hi guys, I stumbled into this thread searching for a nice solution for streaming audio. But I must admit that I'm a bit confused weither I should get the 1000, 2000 or 3000 model of the ViseeO..

This is my car:
- 2011 E92 335i (EU spec) VIN = E629688
- iDrive/navigation professional
- No factory phone/bluetooth
- I have AUX in the mid console (I can't recall if I have USB though !?!?, I'll have to check, but I do have a USB in the glove box)
- Multifunction steering wheel

I want:
- Stream audio/spotify through Android device
- Change song from steering wheel
- If possible, get song info/playlist from Spotify on the iDrive

What are my options?

I got myself a 3000 for my 09 e93. It keeps disconnecting. It doesnt seem terribly reliable. Ill listen to a few songs and itll quit. Ill then hit the radio and cd button a few times back and forth, start my phones music player (pandora or jango or whatever) and then itll start again. Any ideas? Maybe my phone? Using a moto x 2014

It does it with mine also. I reported it to the manufacturer. They didn't seem to have a solution. They asked if it also did it with the Y-Cable, but I don't have a lightning plug equipped Y-Cable for my iPhone to test with. The fact that it does it with your Android phone also makes me think its either the 3000 device itself or the car and not the phone. If you contact them let me know what they say.

It also annoyingly tries to play the first song in alphabetical order in my whole music library every time I get in the car, no matter what song I had been previously playing or what other app is open. This often happens with a delay because the first song alphabetically is not actually on my device, but in the cloud. So I'll like open my Podcast app, start a podcast and get about 5 seconds in to a podcast and then it will "auto switch" to the iPod app and start playing some song I purchased from iTunes 10 years ago that starts with the letter "A" once it has finally buffered. I'll then have to fight with it a couple times to get the podcast to stay playing.

I think this is due the fact that this device essentially emulates the "iPod" interface, which by default auto-plays the first song stored on the device. All songs on "iPods" were local and there were no "apps" when the iPod interface was originally designed for these cars. So basically I'm "using it wrong" by trying to use it with streaming music or other apps on an iPhone.

Maybe I should just go back to using an AUX cable and then strap my Apple Watch to the steering wheel to use as a remote to change tracks while driving.

I have the same problem with mine. Not sure if its because I'm using an iPhone 6. Not sure if I am remembering correctly, but I think it worked with my iPhone 5s. Anyone with a iPhone 6 or iOS 8 able to get the USB to function properly with the WMA 1000?

Smile refuse to let this thread die! wma3000 or wma2000?

can't believe i read through all that and still can't make a decision.

ok, i've got a 2011 e92 m3 with nav that allows for phone bluetooth but not music streaming hence found myself here.

now, i've got one of those y-cable with the old apple 30-pin connector (came with the car) that will connect in the armrest to a usb and audio in.

likely choice is WMA3000B - this seems like the safe choice since presumably the company started integrating their own cable as so many customers were having cable failures (not interested in wma1000 given this option)

On the other hand, the WMA2000 would be delivering music via USB instead of analog...better quality? Will it even work? Any other advantage over the wma3000?

Read the thread so looking for confirmation either way.

The WMA2000 won't work. You need either the WMA1000 or WMA3000. When I got mine, all they had was the 1000. I had a lot of trouble using that with either the OEM or aftermarket Y cables. I was then able to source a Visseo brand Y cable (maker of the WMA1000) at a random car audio shop in California. I haven't had any trouble since. Given that, I would go with the WMA3000 since it is their Y cable and the bluetooth adapter all in one.

Good luck.

Depending on what functionality you want, you could add a2dp easily. I have a 2011 335d built in 6/2010 and have a Blackberry Stereo Gateway in the arm rest. It is powered by the usb in the armrest so its on when the vehicle is and turns off shortly after, and plugs into the aux in. My phone connects to the 335d for phone and BSG for audio. Turn the HU to aux in and play from the phone. I can't see track information or pause/rewind/fastforward, but for $50 it was a quick and easy upgrade.

Seems a lot of money for the WMA3000. £69 on Amazon. Or is that the standard price for this kind of equipment?

Just received my WMA3000B today. Works as advertised with my iPhone 6, except for the auto-play feature, my phone always stays paused when I first get into the car until I hit the play/pause button in the music app. Otherwise, it appears to be working pretty good so far. The sound quality is good, and the responsiveness to in car controls seems pretty good as well.

Update, out of the blue, auto-play feature now works, but I didn't do anything to make it work. I think they may have some firmware bugs? Whatever the reason, I'll keep my fingers crossed it continues to work this way.

I got mine last week and couldn't be happier, i think the autoplay issue is with the iPhone, once i restart it it works great.

Hey, do you have iDrive?

Which streaming apps have you used it with? I'm guessing the skip button / next track works on the steering wheel with it?
.
.
.
Also, to make sure I understand the difference between the 1000 (discontinued?), 2000 and 3000B, is this right?

Is it based on whether your car's got a Combox thing or not? I have a 2008 E93 without iDrive or bluetooth with the USB port and an Aux under the armrest that looks just like yours (the 6FL option). Does that mean I have Combox or not?

From what I've read in a few places, from some pros here, the 1000 is the only one that would work. And I would need the Y cable. Does the 2000 only work for cars with the Combox then? Would be great to be able to just plug the thing right into the USB port and skip the Y cable...

And the 3000B, it looks like it's basically the Y cable and the 1000 version, all in one?

So in my case, I could either go with A) a Y cable and a 1000, or B) the 3000B? What about the 2000?
.
