P1553 & P1554 he is saying it's to do VANOS sensors
I told him they are brand new,I changed them before brought to him, but he thinks that because I drove the car with them they gone faulty again 😢😢😢

Any idea guys what it could be before I order another set 😕

Thank you
Change your oil filter. Use mann or oem. If it is a cheap one it can cause this. Also, make sure the inner cage is attached with the o ring at the bottom attached and the bottom of the filter housing is clear.
That's all checked & all are OEM parts

It's possible he got the 2 VANOS solenoid connectors mixed up and has them the wrong way around. It would be worth checking that.

Update

Ok after spending most my morning with mechanic

still no luck, engine management light still ON
car going on limp mode

used different diagnostic tool & now codes are as in picture, I asked the mechanic if he done the timings correctly he said he checked twice & all is good.

He couldn't do more so I drop the car to BMW specialist MBM AUTOHAUS in Birmimgham, who got proper BMW diagnostic computer let's see what they say about this.

I'm running out of options now 😭

While it sucks that this still isn't resolved, I'm very interested to find out what the actual issue is here as you've pretty much done every option. Have the vanos adaptations been reset already?

Hi mate

Today's update, I got a call from the place I dropped the car yesterday, they said we checked with our diagnostic tool & it's same error we check everything from outside but found nothing, can you allow us to investigate further & see if the timing is done by previous mechanic correctly also we check for any other sign once we open the rocker cover 💰 😢

I said go ahead I have no choice let's get second opinion on this, also I asked if this car need adaptation after changing VANOS they said no you don't need in this model.

So let's see what they say ...........

Fingers crossed. If the other mechanic did the timing incorrectly I'd ask for a refund for at least some of the labor you paid.

Finally it's all sorted

I had a phone call this morning from mechanic they said the timing is out & if you want us to do the timing ... I said YES PLEASE go ahead Just Do It!!!

Next phone call today evening was YOUR CAR IS READY AND NO ERROR CODE 🤩🤩🤩
I picked the car up & they also made a video the timings were out 30 degree VANOS pulleys out of place locking tool wasn't even going in.

so tomorrow I'm going to visit my previous mechanic & show him his beautiful work he done 🤬

Hope this will help someone, thank you guys for help & support.

Thanks for the update and congrats getting it fixed. Too bad it took two shops though.

This is the issue with general mechanics. They might know how to fix a Honda but this is a different animal. I wonder if he even used the right tool. That's a lot off. Glad it's finally fixed
