E92 Rear centre console courtesy lights?

So I was replacing all my courtesy lights with LEDs yesterday- got all the rooflining down etc etc but when I got to the rear courtesy lights in the centre console that light the footwell area I popped it out but found no way into the unit.

Has anyone found a way of replacing the bulbs in these units or is it just not worth the effort?

How did you get to the bulb because when I popped the fitting out it was one solid unit with a white plug in the back?

Have a trawl through the light bulb section on here. Can't view it properly on my ipad. It's for the 330i but principle will be the same. Are you using the genuine BMW Led upgrade kit?

Nah, I'm just using SMD LEDs off ebay from a company that do a year guarantee and are canbus error free.

I found the relevant section on that: http://bmw.workshop-manuals.com/3_Se...ex.php?id=2444

But it still is veeery ambiguous about how to get into the unit once you've removed it.

So I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm doing the same - replacing everything with LEDs -
The center console courtesy lights in the back seat are the final replacement. I was able to open the housing to get to the bulb by using a small screwdriver and removing the lens, and then pushing out the base. The problem I am having now is identifying the bulb itself so I can find an LED replacement. The printed info on the bulb itself is SO TINY!

WTF are these bulbs, and what is the LED equivalent? Bueller?
