The 335is being newer it's issues musn't be as bad as the original N54 335i right?

For sure.... Over heating issue resolved... Software issues around hpfp updated... No fog lights... Major plus in terms of looks.

So far (knock on wood) ... My buddy (e93 is) and I have no common base 335i plaguing issues. Maybe it's because I do proper maintenance... Who knows..

I almost got a clean no accident 335is in 6spd last year with 60,000km on it for $22k. Unless that car at the dealer has a CPO warranty on it, don't bother.

That's good to hear

I'll just put around 2.5k on the side should cover any issues for the next few months as I mostly want to DIY to.

With that price you could get a 08 09 m3 with lower than 100k

Not sure about that. I looked a long time at E92 M3s before looking at other cars and no way at 26 000$ I could find any under 100k.

+ it has much less torque and rod bearing issue isn't something I'm interested into even with them being replaced. And thick oil for winter not a good idea.

Oh well, enjoy the car. The 335is is great. But the M3 is way better.

Wow... white exterior and red interior... it's what I wanted as my No 1.

Damn... I'm actually a bit sad. But still I don't think I overpaid at 26000$. That car still has 30k more which is about 2 years and half of mileage in my case per year.

And in the end if I resell mine it will still have lower miles.

But dammmn, white and red.... arghhhh

I'm honestly considering checking out that 335is

But the one on their site is an AS IS.. Last time I went to TC BMW in markham to test drive an AS IS 335 N55... and guess what? After the sales person let me into the driver seat there was a LOUD noise coming like something rattling .. I was skeptical and the sales person kept telling me its something from the exhaust rattling, the noise wasn't there when he drove it because he was driving under 2k rpm so I wouldn't hear it As soon as I drove the car and pushed it a little more I heard the noise.. I pulled over and popped the hood and asked him to rev it out. Turns out the rod bearings were spun.. Engine was toast @ only 100k!! It was an awkward silent drive back to the dealership with the sales person. Car is still on their website and remains unsold.

I was SO close to buying that 335i.. So TBH who knows what kind of issues that AS IS 335is holds They probably priced it low because it has issues.

Fair price for your 335is would have been $23k before tax. I'm sure the dealer would have done it. Remember.. always haggle at least $3k off their asking for starters

Oh ok it's sold as is that can explain the price to. But man really, rod bearing issues on the non M to? That's crazy.

Yeah I do agree I may have paid 2k or 3k to much but the interior was really mint...

That 335is has a 9k+ accident reported! there is a reason why it is asking low.

Oh wow, still with the Work wheels on it? So it was you that I saw on the road still. I thought maybe someone still had an E92 that looked similar to yours.

This is the second N55 I've went to go see with hidden rod bearing issue.. Apparently a fair amount of N55 guys are suffering from this Stock/Tuned..

I didn't even know it was this common... I haven't seen it on the N54 though. So 335is FTW

+1 over here. I need to pull the pan on my '11 to see how bad things are, if it can be saved with a bearing replacement or not.

N55's are also known for spinning rod bearings, early models 2010/2011.
There are plenty of internal notes that change the N55 over the years, BMW knew its a problem and slowly pushed changes in the engine to the later 2012 and F-chassis engines.

Just pray that BMW did not use the same rod bearing tolerances in the 2010/2011 N54.

2010/2011 was the year they switched suppliers for the rod bearings and that's why you see so many 2011 M3's and 2011 N55 cars blowing up.
