E93 Wind Deflector

Hello

I'm picking up a E93 in a month and i was wondering if the wind deflector is useful? and when it is installed does it limit the seat travel?

Thanks

Mine works fine, not collapsing problems at speed. Make sure you shop around. I bought mine from Tischer back east. It was still cheaper the applying a BMWCCA to my local dealers price.

Love mine - makes a big diff when it is cool out - got mine from BMW of Bloomfield NJ (http://www.bmwofbloomfield.com/) they sell them on ebay and paid $365 + 30 shipping - best price I could find anywhere plain or with the BMW logo.

its a great addition to the car, and really helps with the wind blowing around.

as far as the falling down, on my car the only time it seems to happen is when it is windy outside, and the wind is hitting the car from the side. (cross wind) and even then, i have had it for a year and its only happened 3 or 4 times.

Got one for free as part of my purchase and it works great. I got a small rip init after about a month but it was covered under warranty, I think it is a 12 month warranty not 4 years.

It is VERY useful, especially if the girlfriend/wife just spent $100 on her hair, lmao.

I just looked to (got mine about 2 months back) and I don't see them listing them right now - it was a really good deal - I saw some in the low 400's, there are a lot of good sources for BMW parts on the net, like Tischer bmw and circle bmw that give good discounts on stuff.

I found mine on ebay for 375 and 15 shipping. BMW of Bloomfield had it listed. I noticed a very small separation of the mesh on one of the edges. I don't know if this was a good deal because it was that way already or it happened with my handling it.

As far as it working well, it does!!! I found a clear section of rode where I could look for cops and took it up to 90. The amount of wind was as low as it was at 60. It will be nice for highway trips or talking on the phone.

I've always said that the E93 has the best wind management of any convertible -- and it's true... but after having mine for over a year, I finally bought a wind deflector. It really makes a difference. In the summer, I don't mind the wind, but now that cooler temps are here, it's much more comfortable. I recommend it!!

I'm considering get one, and I have a question about the wind deflector. In the manual, it appears that you can lay the deflector covering the back seats. Is there a problem with keeping it upright with the top up or should you lay it down before you put the top up, not that I would do that.

You can keep it upright with the top up all though I don't know why you would. I keep mine in place during the summer months.

Is the logo supposed to face the driver on these things? Mine is blank when looking at it from behind the car, and has the wind-tunnel-lines logo facing the front. Which means that logo is visible in my rear-view mirror where I'd rather just have an uncluttered view of the traffic behind me. Seems like a crappy design - or did I get one with the design printed on the wrong side?
