It's the only real protection you got against lasers But the point is moot, they made laser jammers illegal in TX last year.

V1!

Well, you live in Texas where jammers are illegal so you have that obstacle as well. Although i know some jammer users in TX that say a jammer fix-it ticket is better than a speeding ticket anyday.

Well, escort will "tune up" your detector as well. I sent my Redline in last year when I got the "service required" message on the detector and they "updated the software" whatever that means. And they gave me new suction cups.

I am not this is a dead thread or not -
But my question here is
Got Magnum and Cincinnati Microwave Laser ZR4 Shifters and was told by M5 post memebr that this set up won't work for me in NC!!
Is that true?
And that Magnum can be deactivated remotely by NC state troopers to not alert me!! and ZR4 won't jam most recent laser guns!!

in the UK laser jammers are considered to be "perverting the course of justice" and its a hell off an offense, with potential jail and car squashed

since laser guns started to become popular the jammers got more and more efficient, but they throw up an error code on the guns, so plod write down your number and pay you a visit at home, if they find your "garage door opener" can stop their laser u r in trouble...

I've never read anything that indicate that Magnum can be remotely deactivated. I have read that ZR4 is not all that great of a jammer though.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Beltronics STi Magnum radar detector. No, cops cannot "deactivate" it and they cannot detect it either.

Escort ZR4 "laser shifters" (aka laser jammers) are mediocre jammers and if you are going to spend the money and want something to actually work I would buy Laser Interceptors. LI's are also updateable.
