After reading this thread and all that is involved in retrofitting, I have determined it would be easier to trade the car and get one with Comfort Access installed.

Good for you sir. Please keep negativity away its not needed. Everyone been saying that for years, and guess what? It has finally been done; no its not cheaper to trade the car in. The price you get to sell your car + the price buying another one is not the same, difference might be 1k-4k depending how much your car is worth. If you have nothing informative to support this retrofit or any other for that matter please don't post.

Sick and tired of people like you posting negativity everywhere weather someone asking for help or trying to get information

Anything is possible but it's a pain....I found a couple who were selling the car harness and I asked if they could pull the CA wiring harness and sell it separately and they wouldn't as they said it's a pain.

But what are friends for

My post is good information for the poor stiff thinking this might be a good/plausible idea for their BMW.

Truth hurts, but it has a place here. This is a ridiculous project.

For some of us, time is money, and this would be a VERY costly project for me... Good luck, OP.

So I need to run the wire through the seal tumbler in the trunk to plug it in the CA antenna attached to the rear bumper. Well the plug is big and doesn't go through the seal tumbler, does anyone knows how to remove the wires from the plug so I can run them through and then re-attach them to the plug. I will post pic for illustration

Thanks

You can definitely de-pin the plug to feed the wires through the grommet. Will require a small precision screwdriver set.

How did you feed the premade CA harness through the dash? Its a tight squeeze over the steering column to feed cables with front CA antenna plugs intact.

Any picture or a link to show how to de-pin....I have the small precision screwdriver but don't want to be forceful and break the plug.

I didn't get to the dash still working in the trunk...and to the rear console ca antenna.....

Doing that part i only pass the 2 wires through this tumbler as the harness was sealed at this point. This way building your own harness is better but in think that using a thin iron wire crossing the tumbler you can attach it to the wire after you removed the plug. If you brake it repair kit is 61 13 2 359 999 (Plug-6 Pins- 6 Grommets).
First pic shows at right side the gray clip to remove the blue part, then slide the white part also using a small flat screwdriver (clip shown in the first pic center one). I don't know for the grommets probably following the pins when you 'll remove them after pushing the clip connector (pic 2 bottom) only one clip (none on the other side).
Good luck !

hi Ramez and all the guys here

i am happy to see this thread and to know that i was able to take part of it even if i am half way around the world. i saw in the previous pages that you were discussing on how to install it, also how to make the soft close mod or how to get the CA keys for your cars from BMW. As i shared the information with Ramez and he can share it with you, i can help you with all these things and also any other retrofits for e92/e93, just feel free to ask.

regarding the CA wiring harness, i can do a better price for sure if i can have more then 1 harness to manufacture. it takes times for me and unfortunately as probable all here i work full time job, so i my only free time is weekend, most of it doing different retrofits on cars (mine and other's)

best regards from Romania

Hello, just a small question: I am wondering how you can power the door motor through the X256 and X257 doors connectors as they don’t provide a slot for that. Only the 2 pins 31 & 32 have the size but used for the motor window and only powered by the switch and inverted if you are shutting or opening the window.

You need a 0.75mm wire, so a small pin will do the job. You don t need one of the big pins

dumitru. We talked before if you can certainly work a better deal on the harness im down!.

There is no way I could be pre-wired for this already? what would be a quick way for me to check, do't lose anything by checking.

I'm still sad that this is not standard on a $50,000 car from 2011!

When you could get $5,000 2011 Chevy Aveo that has this feature standard!

I don't think you are prewired. I have a 2009 and it aint. If wanna check I guess see if you have anything plugged in pin1 of the antenna diversity module located in the rear brake light at the rear windshield
