Diff swap help

So I had a bunch of work I did this weekend and wanted to throw my new to me 188 mfactory 3.64 LSD in my ‘11 328i 6mt. I noticed a few things, 1) my 328 has a 4/8 bolt flange where the LSD that was in I believe a 330 has a 3. I have the socket to be able to change the flange out, but my main question is the pinion protrusion. Will that work in the 328 or does it need to be cut off? I’m pretty sure the 328 does not have room for it. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

You need to cut it off and then swap the flanges and you will be good to go.
