This is the oil pan gasket leaking right? Also another quick question
Like the title says. New car and I'm pretty sure this is the oil pan leaking. Lots of oil all over this plastic under tray cover. This particular photo is taken from just behind the passenger front wheel. Additionally, the car in question is a 2008 328xi Touring 6MT, while under 2k revs and in 2nd or 3rd gear the car will sometimes jerk a little bit while accelerating. Is this normal or indicative of a misfire caused by the spark plugs or coils? Thanks guys

I'm not the most experienced guy on here but it's hard to determine what exactly is leaking without taking off the underbody tray and cleaning the oil residue and checking later. My car is just drenched in oil but doesn't seem to leak so idk. I also recently bought mine and failed TÜV due to oil on the tray but mine is not leaking, fortunately.
To the jerking, it sure is not normal but without logs or error codes the most you'd be able to diagnose is that your car is doing something it's not supposed to do. Do you have any errors when reading DTC with a BWM specific reader or MHD? |

You really should take the undertray out. It could be also a rear crankshaft gasket leak.
