09 e90 328i SULEV Startup

Hi everyone,

I've had my e90 for about 6 months now, and it's had its fair share of problems. I'm pretty paranoid about the startup. Does not matter the temperature, but every cold start I do it starts out over 1k rps and slowly goes down and settle at about 800. Is this a normal startup from what you have seen?

My 2009 328i SULEV is the same. There is also an emissions pump that runs for a few seconds right at start-up which can be heard also if you listen close.
