GROUP BUY: BMW PE mod

Hello fellow PNW BMW owners. I wanted to share an opportunity that has came up recently. I am getting the BMW PE mod done, and wanted to share that a professional welder has graciously offered to do the BMW PE mod to your exhaust for $200.

$300. Best price I've seen yet. And, totally worth it.
Located in Everett, WA.
Does not have to bmw 335i. Any BMW can have this done, as he has done it to multiple chassis.
Currently with 3-4 total jobs lined up.

8/31/2017 10 AM UPDATE: He requested to be contacted by email. Had over 50 people blow up his phone via text.

I would love to jump on this but am worried about drone. I haven't been on the board forever so sorry if it's a stupid question but how loud and how much drone are we talking?

My car is about to go under the knife and I was just about to break down and order an oe performance exhaust to go along with all the changes but I am definitely tempted by this.

If you are to ask for my personal opinion, no drone. I've had BMW PE for years and never complained about drone. If you want something more tame and quiet, this wouldn't be the exhaust for you. However, Phillip (the guy doing the work) has experience tailoring it to your liking (ie if you want it louder or less loud).

Thanks for your response bud, appreciate it.

I'm not so much looking for a "quiet" experience as much as I don't want to get a headache when I jump on the trestle and cruise. I've had a lot of loud exhausts in my life and you can tame an exhaust just how you drive it to a certain point so I'm ok with it being a little loud, especially with the rest of the converters and secondaries still in there.

I think I am interested though, if I hate it I can always order the real deal after I get my paint done.

I would like to get some tips that are the style of the OEM performance exhaust at the same time. Do they carry tips or should we order those ahead of time?

To be quite honest, you've got a couple options.
#1 I'm actually selling my VRSF exhaust, because it is too tame for my taste. I am looking to acquire something more louder and aggressive. When paired with my downpipe, the PE will do the job. My VRSF exhaust with my downpipe just sounds like a low grunt; almost mimics a V8 in the lower ranges. Maybe my VRSF is an option?

#2 do the PE mod and don't install downpipes.

Correct. Dropped the entire exhaust, did the work, and reinstalled. Just make sure to check if you need new bolts or gaskets if you want to save some time (if you know).

If you're near Lynnwood, just stop by where I'm at and hear it in person.

Sure. I'm in Lynnwood. Stop by the Alderwood area in the morning if you could. I have to stop by my office which is across the street.

I'm curious to know if you prefer the sound of the PE mod to the normal PE, if i remember right you used to have the PE installed before selling it? Seems like you would have the insight to give a knowledgeable direct comparison between the two.

Thanks!

Too be 100% honest. They're almost identical, if done properly. I prefer the PE mod just because it's cheaper.

Thanks again, appreciate the offer! I might jump on that except my car is an 06' 330 so that's a no go for me.

I am interested in jumping on this group buy though, can you PM what to do next??
