I believe 330D can be mapped to 300BHP from 245BHP = 55BHP gain by re mapping. Brakes are defo better on 330D cars. Was your remapping conservative? I believe 325D can be mapped to 285-300BHP.

Lci are 204 standard mate.Yes there was a few company's that offered 300 but thought id play it safe. Previous car was a focus st running 320 bhp and 380ftlb and tbh I don't think there is much in it now it's mapped. Very happy with it

My bro's pre lci 325d is 197bhp iirc I guess a standard lci 320d with 184bhp would be close to a pre lci 325d with the 197bhp But the tuning potential from the 325d is pretty amazing. Your talking an 80-100bhp increase with a remap which is pretty stonking |

Here is 325D AT http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...24&hg=24&fg=05 And 330D AT http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...17&hg=24&fg=05 Considering all this, BHP gains on 325d are insane!

I have taken the last 7 digits of VIN off 10/09 325D and compared it to same age 10/09 330D. Part number for the injector and turbos are different. Here is what you get by entering last 7 digits of 325D VIN http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...id=51067&hg=11

I bet you are happy. I sat in 2010 E92 325D which was mapped to 290BHP. Acceleration was immense.

Yeah I said the same, but obviously after further looking, there is more differences than I first thought ! Still wouldn't say no to a 325d |

Taking the part numbers from an '09 325d will show different to a 330d as the N57 wasn't put into the 325d until about '11 I think. My old one was the M57 engine.
I've read previously on several forums, including this one that the N57 25d unit and N57 30d units are identical apart from the map. I would have had a 525d no worries but this 530d came up at the right price so I took it. |

agreed with you. Its a no go at the moment. I guess I will be keeping my car for another year to have a decent LCI 330d. Exception is if I have to do mega mileages and then 320d would be the way to go.

Fair enough mate, E91 would have been my choice had I stayed with a 3er. Don't rule out an N57 (204) 25d though, they are the same as the N57 30d and a trip to DMS would have it flying

They said there were subtle differences - but I have seen another rolling road graph from DMS posted on here that showed 300bhp from a 325d LCI ! Maybe there are differences depending on ECU or other bits on the 325d so they remap very high but only some quite as high as a 330d LCI - if that makes sense ! The DMS remap is stunning - so smooth and though it doesn't feel outrageous compared to the std 330d LCI it is in reality - you only need to watch the speedo !! The LCI 330d feels quite a bit more punchy that a non LCI so the difference when mapped is not as great. Coming from a 204bhp 325d LCI the difference must be incredible ! |

Thanks mate. Real OEM shows different part numbers whereas people say that they are same.

He was very definite to me - almost the same but not quite ... in small ways - thus the 330d will always produce more. |

Pre 03/2010 part numbers for injector, turbos and transmission on 325 are different to 330d. However from 03/2010 all the part numbers are identical. Hence DMS has two different results. Good news for me 325D is a bargain if you can find the right one. Remapped gains are nearly equal to 330D.

Even the older 325d is still a decent buy
A few k cheaper than a 330d and if all you want is 270-280bhp which imo is fairly ample you can't go wrong imo |

Actually they launched N57 in 09/09. So some 325d from that production date may have N57.
N57 is the key for the tuning equal to 330d.

yes, Jase. But if you can get the right engine to tune and get the power equal to 330d, then why not?
