Not all functions of the CIC are reproduced in the Android. You'll need to be able to jump between the interfaces. i *think* it can be done. ive seen an fm transmitter for sale that u can hook up to it.

This been been my hold up, not interested in having to switch back to CCC to listen to the radio. I'll have to do some more digging to see how others get around this.

Has anyone tried USB to 3.5mm DAC headphone amplifier to bypass the awful DAC of the android headunit?

I definitely have seen USB output option but can it support it?

If this works it should improve sound quality by alot.

Edit: post 409 Sunny_j uses it and sound quality apparently is superb.

I'm sold!

I dont think that will work in the US, as it appears to only support DAB.

I have the new unit. It can struggle with video streaming when the vid is more than 15 minutes. I've had to reboot it to get it to work again. It acts like a memory leak so, it may be the app rather than the device itself. Other than that, it has good performance. Just crap for features.

It's the same audio quality you would get by plugging your phone into the aux port. It's pretty bad.

I use google maps a lot with this unit. The problem is that every time I turn the car off to get gas google maps looses the track and I have to re-enter the destination address. Does anyone know of a way to stop that from happening?

Have you ever tried to connect external DAC ?
I bought one but it's not working.
I have downloaded "Host Check" from market and it says that "android.hardware.usb.host.xml" is missing.
Can i do something with this to fix the problem?
I was trying to root unit but SuperSU says that "SU Binary occupied"

Hey EVC, I've been looking to bite the bullet on one of these newer Android 9.0 Snapdragon Octa-core 4GB RAM units. I'm hoping the snapdragon and 4GB will make these a fair bit faster/smoother than the older px6 units. Do you find the software/interface runs smoothly on the unit? Doesn't lag or take a long time to respond?

Also one of the things I did like with the px6 android 8.0 units was that you could change the UI to NBT, NBT EVO or ID6 in the systems settings menu. Do you know if you can do this on these newer units? I see they all come default with the 'ID7' interface, which I don't really like... it looks a lot cheaper. I like how refined and factory the NBT EVO and ID6 style interfaces looked, as it very closely mimicked the actual NBT EVO/ID6 software from BMW. But I haven't seen any mention whether the UI can be changed on these newer units.

Exactly my thoughts. The ID7 interface looks a bit bland.

Qualcomm's model is only ID7 interface
PX6 model can have other user interfaces
