Car Runs Rough - Jb4 Install
hey guys just finished installation of a jb4 in my 09 335i
i just recently did a walnut blast and the car runs much better i have relatively new plugs and haven't thrown a code for any coils the car started up no problem and i went for a quick drive without changing the map - it was set to the default. the car felt MUCH faster within a minute or two at the most, the engine began to shake and shudder and run extremely rough - i immediately backed off throttle and drove it back home with RPM's under 2k i pulled a few new codes: P0080 exhaust valve control solenoid circuit high (bank 1) P0400 exhaust gas recirculation flow P0002 fuel volume regulator control circuit range/performance i had the following codes prior to the installation and i knew about the issue - bad cats P0420 and P0430 - maybe that's the issue ? any idea what's wrong ? should i try putting it back to stock ? reply, PM, call, or text 2o3 9o6 66I8 i'm at a loss and i need to drive to work tomorrow |

i can say that when i press the down arrow and the - button simultaneously on the steering wheel, the menu comes up as it should and i can switch between maps
i just tried starting my car again after the incident and drove around the block not boosting and all seemed normal with the world - i put it to map 0 for this - there was no shuddering like there was the first time. when i initially installed it, started the car and went for a drive, i had not changed any setting at all - i didn't even go into the menu. i also used the jb4 to pull codes and got the following: 29F4 - i knew about this one and had it before install of jb4 29F5 - i knew about this one and had it before install of jb4 these 3 codes are brand new as of tonight - seems odd that "all of a sudden" i get misfires after jb4 install - i mean "maybe" it could be a coincidence that as soon as i installed it a plug or coil has gone bad but idk 29D2 29CE 30FF |

maybe my dual ports need to be adjusted to accommodate the increase in PSI ?
i don't seem to have an issue on map 0 but map 1 is where things went wrong now that there's a higher boost level, it's possible they need to be tightened... i did check all of that stuff already - it's all connected - no problems going from the throttle body to the intercooler i'll check this |

Stop running map 0 and put it in 4 for stock mapping.
