Loose strut mount?

hello everyone.
I about to replace Eibach Pro kit springs with stock sport springs and I noticed one thing. Strut mounts have a bit of play from side to side, ~1-2mm. Is it normal for unloaded parts or I need new strut mounts?
Strut is Koni Yellow and mount is Lemfoerder 3121101 (sport strut mount - 31306775098).
Here is short video:

Yee, is the bearing, all used strut mounts like this are doing that, they feel loose when unloaded and there is small free play. I have worked on many BMW and came across frequently at this "issue" that I find normal. Others might disagree...

While you have the suspension apart, it always a good idea to just replace the mounts.

my brand new mounts also moved like that. it is probably the play in the bearing race.

Ok. I overtightened and broke one of three bolts. It was the reason to replace strut mounts and it was good idea, bacause new mounts has less horisontal movement in it. I also noticed, that internal part of bearings in old mounts has oval shape (a bit), not perfectly round. And the whole bearing was shifted (1mm) from center of the mount. However it was sitting there firm.
Old and new mounts are Lemforder and have Koyo (Japan) bearing inside.

Lemforder is the OEM part provider for BMW for strut mounts. Lemforder will cost around $32-35 a piece vs $100 a piece. So, one is paying $66.00 for a little BMW ink sticker.

If the strut mount has over 50,000 miles on it, it's a really good idea to replace it.

I believe the torque specification (something I'm not firm believer in) is 25-30 lbs and then 90* angle turn. You could have fix the broken stud but is better that you replaced the whole assembly.

с новым годом
