Excellent DIY guide! I used it this weekend to install my oem Aluminum trim. A big +1 to using a plastic trim removal kit or something non-metal to pry your trim pieces off.
Also, removing the shift knob is not necessary. You can remove/install the center console trim piece with just the shift boot popped off. |

I know it has been a while, but does anyone still have any of their wood trim left from their change? I just bought a 2011 335d with a couple scratches it the trim and I am thinking about replacing it with some lightly used pieces. Feel free to PM if you like.

Bringing this thread back from the dead...
I just replaced my M3's aluminum trim w/ anthracite sycamore & couldn't be more pleased. Many thanks to the OP, as I found these instrux extremely helpful. Thank you!

I have aluminum trim and I'd like to replace with dark wood trim. Anyone have OEM wood trim to sell (or even swap)?
