Hello everybody. I've been poking around for a few months, but thought I should introduce myself. I bought a 2011 e90 335i in December. I knew F30s were coming but I've always loved the e90's look, especially lci. It's the best looking sedan out there IMO. The M Sport makes it look even better. I still remember the first time I saw one; I knew I had to have one.
Luckily, three years later, they were still available new. I didn't order it because every dealer I talked to when I started looking the end of October said they could not take any more orders. Luckily, one was on a boat on its way to the West Coast at the time that fit my requirements: M Sport, LeMans Blue, Comfort Access, Premium, Performance Edition. I might have picked different seat colors, and would have preferred a manual, but other than that it's perfect. Also, I didn’t really want to spend the extra money for the nav, but it was on the car. Now I love the whole iDrive thing and the way it integrates with my iPod, iPhone, and wife’s Android. It’s also nice to have the nav on the split screen. I test drove a non-M Sport, but this steering wheel felt so right. I think I made a good choice. After looking around this forum, I learned what would be a good price and I got a much lower price than I expected thanks to the incentives at the end of the year (I know they’ve gotten better, but I got the perfect car while it was available). I love cars in general, but this car is truly an amazing machine; I love driving this car! It feels perfect and just begs you to push it more around turns on the mountain roads. The torque on the low end is amazing, but I feel like it runs out of power at the top end the two times I’ve rapped it out. I don’t plan on doing that often anyways. I do feel some slight lag from a dead stop; hopefully that’s just normal turbo lag. It’s also great to be back in a rear drive car. I’ve been forced into front drive through college and law school because of the relatively low cost for late models. I moved from a final gen Grand Am GT, which was a cheap compromise for what I wanted in a car. It was also trouble free but it had become a squeaky “rattle trap.” I'm in Portland frequently on business so I hope to attend a meet this summer when my schedule permits. congrats on your new msport! if i may do so, might i recommend that your first and actually pretty important upgrade (not really just a mod), is to put HID in your fogs. it's made a DRASTIC improvement in visibility, especially during the darker/wetter part of the year up here in the PNW. you'll thank me for it....trust me!
http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hipexebmwpla.html select 9006 for the bulb size and 4300k for color temp. the DIY install is located on this forum and took me a leisurely 1 hour with basic tools. love the color. congrats again! -alex
