Noise when depressing gas, is it a belt?
Noise: https://streamable.com/sfj9bj (might not be audible without headphones, sounds like birds in forest, but its my engine sadly )
It's most prominent when depressing gas, or when rolling downhill, but also often makes noise under acceleration. It's a little bit random, one day you can drive and not hear a thing, other day it will be loudest its ever been, tbh it seems like it's progressively getting louder. No noise when idling standstill. I'm thinking it's belt or pulley, any thoughts ? Last edited by deropke; 05-30-2020 at 12:46 PM.. |

How many miles are on the belt and pulleys?

Completely off topic but how do you have an RHD/Euro model with an MPH cluster?

If those components have not been changed at that mileage, it needs to be done as soon as possible. The accessory belt coming off on a N54 or N52 (probably a few others too) is not a small deal. It can nuke the entire engine.

Agreed - the belt/tensioner/pulleys are likely overdue for replacement even if unrelated, so start there. You should also familiarize yourself with other recommended maintenance for higher mileage BMWs here: https://www.dslreports.com/r0/downlo...e%20v03.13.pdf
For the belt change, check out www.realoem.com for the applicable part numbers, www.newtis.info for the replacement procedure, and I recommend www.fcpeuro.com for the parts themselves.

posting this incase someone in the future find this relative, I talked with mechanic and he said it's most likely manifold gasket, which expands when its hot and creates this noise

I don't see how this can be the case.. the intake manifold gaskets expanding wouldn't cause this rhythmic ticking sound from your video.
