Shim, I dunno...looks like the big boys' events...I wanted something a little amateur feeling...until I feel more confident.

just kidding...
Well, I think you just needed to study the course layout a touch more and definitely work on your shifting and your cornering lines. Actually, the guy in the Evo missed some shifts as well, he was off boost a lot, he couldve been way faster...if he had heel and toed a little bit better.

Also, it looked like you had some traction problem at some exits, but you have good tires on that came with the zhp right? Maybe your corner lines were a little too tight and you needed to be more gentle with the go pedal.

My line needs work too. The fastest guy was in the very beginning, apparently just having fun in his Austin Healey. Older fellow and he ran it in like 36...I was like holy crap, is everyone here that good? |

I wish I was around on the 5th, I'd be cool with going to either the BMWCCA one or the CDC event. My new wheels and tires should arrive today to, so I won't have to worry about punishing my run flats anymore On the topic of heel/toe ... I'm not sure if it'd be worth the effort in the beginning. Just trying to remember the course design takes up 80% of my brain, the rest is left with braking, throttle and finding the line I know most of the auto-x there usually just leave it in 2nd and call it a day. I think at Fedex you'd probably hit 3rd, since it's a much bigger course. And on the subject of detailing ... if you kill a few cones, be prepared to rub out some scuff marks from your bumper. They do come out, just takes a little elbow grease. |
